Audio speaker nillkin x man bluetooth speaker. Long-playing speaker NILLKIN X-MAN. Unpacking and packaging

This music will be eternal
If I charge batteries

Based on the song of the group "Nautilus Pompilius"
You won't surprise anyone with a column with a built-in power bank, but it's still nice to listen to music for a long time without interrupting the charging process. The manufacturer promises that there is a 5200mAh battery inside.
The speaker worked at a comfortable volume level for more than 30 hours. This is an impressive result for me. For comparison, Sardine SDY-019 lasts 9 hours on a single charge, and then, I thought it was very good. Compared to the Sardine, the Nillkin speaker plays louder and more bass, but it has noticeably fewer available sound sources.
Details in the review.

Since I will use the column in the country, I chose a bright color so that it was noticeable from afar.
Of all the colors available from the manufacturer, I liked red the most.
The column is packed with a box with a dust jacket. The view is presentable, the printing is of high quality. Box dimensions 195x124x65 mm.

On the back we can read about technical characteristics products. And also find out the second name of the brand that produced the column - NKenjoy.

Removing the dust jacket. Below it is a box of thick black cardboard. Inside there is a lodgment made of thick film for the speaker itself and accompanying accessories. From pieces of paper - instructions in English and a warranty card.

Contents of the instruction.

A good quality USB cable is available. micro USB length 60 cm.

And the audio cable is also 60 cm.

Before we begin to get acquainted with the column, I will give its characteristics from the seller's page.

The speaker does not have a display, so appearance the front is very minimalistic. Case dimensions 171x97x40 mm.
The entire front part is covered with a metal mesh. Through it, the outlines of two speakers are guessed. Metallic NK logo stuck in the corner.

From the back, the look is exactly the same, only without the logo. You can see the outline of the oval opening of the passive diffuser.

In the upper right corner of the case there is a thick rubber band to which a metal carabiner is attached.
Looks quite sturdy and of high quality. Length 50 mm, width 30 mm, thickness of the metal bar 3.7 mm.

Around the perimeter of the column, the case is surrounded by a thick layer of silicone protection. Below there are "legs" - protrusions about 1 cm high. Information about the column is indicated between them.

There are similar protrusions on the upper side.
Control buttons are hidden under them.

There is nothing on the left side of the column.

There is a plug on the right.

There are the following connectors underneath: USB - for charging external devices in power bank mode, micro USB - for charging the speaker itself, AUX input for connecting external sound sources via an audio cable.

Since the speaker is portable and is supposed to be used on the road, weight is an important value. Here it makes up a considerable half a kilogram, mainly due to the capacious batteries inside.

The convenience of using the column is added by the presence of an LED indicator. A red three-dot indicator shows the battery level. And the blue indicator shows the work on Bluetooth.

Let's move on to testing
Let's check the battery capacity using the available methods.
I immediately used the speaker that arrived as a power bank, powering a table lamp through the USB connector. After the lamp turned off, I charged the column.
The column is charged with a current strength of just over 1 A.

It came out with 4600 mAh.

Then I thought that powering the lamp was not a typical task for a speaker, and after it was discharged before turning off after playing music, I re-measured.
This time 4800 mAh was added.

It took 5 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge the column.
I know that it is correct to estimate the capacity of a battery when it is discharged. I connected a discharged Besiter power bank to the speaker. It is rather gluttonous, always takes 2A amperage. I did not charge from the column. I do not know what is the reason, I tried it several times.
I tried to charge from the column Asus smartphone Zenfone Max. The new smartphone has a 5000 mAh battery, but mine is no longer new.
Discharged up to 18%. I connect.

Managed to charge up to 89%.

Pretty good. Most smartphones with conventional batteries can be fully charged.
It's no secret that the resource already has an overview of this column. And in the comments one of the users posted a photo of the disassembly
I revised the photo again before posting the review. They are quite high quality and detailed. Therefore, I didn't just disassemble my column.
I will not dwell on the control of the column especially. There is no radio, no connectors for flash drives and micro SD cards. Therefore, there are not so many functions. When you connect the player via AUX, the speaker automatically switches to this mode and plays music.
Through bluetooth, you can connect a smartphone, tablet, laptop and similar devices. The controls are the same as on most of these speakers. Only the moment of pairing the speaker with the device caused me some difficulties.
The fact is that if you press the power button for 1 second, the indicators light up and show the battery charge level even with the speaker turned off. And so it seemed to me that I turned it on. But to turn it on, you need to hold down the button for 3 seconds. A quiet one is heard sound signal(no yelling in broken English), the blue LED lights up and the speaker is ready to pair. We turn on Bluetooth on our device, find the speaker and you can listen to music. Turning off is done by short pressing the power button.
The speaker plays quite loudly for a portable device. Therefore, I could not test the duration of the sound on one battery charge at full volume. I set the volume on the speaker itself to maximum, on the smartphone by about 70% and put it in the closet. Through clothes and doors, the music could be heard well. And she pretty much "boozed" by the lower classes. Enjoyed the "disco in the closet" for three days. After that, I calculated the operating time, it turned out 31 hours and 30 minutes. As I wrote in the introduction, this is an impressive result for me.
As for the sound quality, do not forget that the speaker has a rather big passive diffuser and "independent chambers" are declared.
You can find such a render on the seller's page.

Thanks to this, the speaker has a good "bass". The laws of physics cannot be fooled, it is very far from full-size speakers. But not bad for a portable device.
High and medium frequencies in their places. No distortions and wheezing were noticed, even at maximum volume.
I took a column with me to the dacha. I put my smartphone on the table inside the house, and put the speaker outside under the window. The music could be heard perfectly at a distance of 10 and 15 meters. But it was possible to enjoy more or less full-fledged reproduction of all frequencies only close, at a distance of 2-3 meters. As soon as we moved away, only high and medium frequencies were heard. I think that for giving, the volume of the speaker is more than enough. But the beach discos, promised on the product page, can be arranged only with a very strong desire.
If someone is interested in the frequency response graph, then the manufacturer gives this picture.

I usually do not pay attention to such graphs, since it is always better to receive data with my own hand, but I do not have such an opportunity.
In the same place, at the dacha, I compared the saber column with the Sardine SDY-019 (I took a photo together, I got lost). I always thought that that had a pretty good balanced sound. In direct comparison, it turned out that the volume and bass are much better expressed in Nillkin, and the "purity" of reproduction is about the same. And yet, Sardine is much more convenient for me to use. It also has a slot for microSD and FM radio and, most importantly, an informative display. But it is inconvenient to carry it with you because of the sharp corners of the case.
Even at the dacha, each of these columns will find its own application. It is convenient to place Nillkin next to the house so that the music from the smartphone can be heard throughout the entire area. And it is convenient to put the Sardine next to you and listen to the radio at a comfortable volume.
And by the way, Nillkin can be pulled quite far from the house within the line of sight. Usually bluetooth devices keep the connection up to 10 meters away. And then I took the column and began to move away from the house. At a distance of 15 meters, she stuttered once and continued to play. The obviously hesitant reception began only at a distance of 20 meters. Suddenly.
Let's go back to the comparisons. The other day I received speaker xiaomi Square Box Generation 2.

In terms of functionality, the speakers are the same - Bluetooth and AUX.
The subject weighs 2 times more. And the feeling that the sound gives 2 times more, judged by the volume and bass.
In terms of battery capacity and time, Xiaomi's products are also far behind.
So, if you are not confused by the differences in price, there is reason to think about which is better to choose.
Let's summarize.
The workmanship of the speaker from Nillkin does not give rise to any complaints from me. I would like a display and a little more connectors, but you need to understand that this is like a protected speaker for outdoor activities and the manufacturer believes that it does not need these bells and whistles. The tracks are quite convenient to control from the smartphone screen. I would like even more volume and bass, but I demand too much from the portable and small speakers.
In addition to good sound quality, the main advantage of the speaker is its capacious battery. You can listen to music for a long time and recharge your gadgets. Inside there are two 18650 banks, if you wish, you can replace them with new or more capacious ones.
I don't know if this column can be called best buy for this money, but as an option for the acquisition is quite worthy of attention.
That's all.
Best wishes. Enjoy summer days.

Just a few years ago, wireless speakers were the privilege of a certain class called geeks. And, to put it mildly, they looked askance at me when I connected such a device to my Cowon J3 player. However, this summer, traveling along the seaside, I was amazed at the ubiquity similar devices... And okay, when you meet this device from a young lover of heavy or electronic genres. But to the music from the speaker, people sat by the fire, almost completely replacing the guitar as a species. And I will say more to avid travelers - even the homeless aborigines of Utrish wandered with bluetooth speakers - which completely unsettled me. Yes, progress is a harsh thing, and that is why today we will consider a fresh device from a well-known company Nillkin - wireless speaker X-MAN.

UNPACKING AND PACKAGING

In terms of packaging, Nillkin has always stood out for its particularly high-quality approach. The box looks very representative. On the front of the package is a photo of the device, the Nillkin logo and the model names X-MAN and X1. Apparently, X1 is the name of the model, and X-MAN is a whole line of devices.

On the side face you can find a schematic sketch of the upper part of the device.

At the back we find an almost complete range of technical characteristics and an indication of the brand NKenjoy which is a sub-brand of Nillkin. On the left you can see a holographic sticker with an erasable layer of control over the originality of the device, if suddenly someone decides to fake it.

We will be equipped with waste paper in English and Chinese, in the form of a warranty card and operating instructions. We were also provided with AUX and MicroUSB cables of dubious quality, which I immediately replaced with my own tested ones.

DESIGN / ERGONOMICS / FUNCTIONALITY

If you are an amateur for 2-3 weeks hiking along the mountain peaks, then the Nillkin X-MAN is most likely not your choice, since such a column weighs more than 500 grams. However, with its dimensions, it makes us hope, and rightly so, for a sound rich in low frequencies.

The grip of the middle male hand barely covers the device.

But the Nillkin X-MAN is not suitable for carrying in the hand, for this purpose there is a durable metal carabiner. By the way, the carbine is really very good and you can safely hook the speaker to a backpack or a tree branch on it. However, according to experience, when the speaker stands on "its own feet" - the resonance is higher and the sound becomes even more impressive.

The device looks very stylish. As usual, smart designers have worked on Nillkin products, taking into account all the available nuances.

The scope of such a device is very large. I plan to take her to the dacha, outings to nature and on light hikes to the sea. Besides, when getting ready for a visit, the device can also be very useful, creating with its sound a pleasant intimate atmosphere for enjoying a good conversation. And of course, the sounds of that very conversation will not be heard by the parents, which is important, especially if you are a progressive young man.

Such devices are not replaceable during repairs, when it is simply dangerous to use an expensive stationary system. Moreover, here we have declared the degree of protection IPX4. That is, the device was not tested for the penetration of solid particles, but there is protection against moisture - water is sprayed onto the object in an amount of 10 liters per minute for 5 minutes. In practice, this means that X-MAN works flawlessly in all weather conditions. Unless the device cannot be drowned in water, but it can withstand any rain.

The front from the back can only be distinguished by the Nk logo - it is absent on the back.

More than 90 percent of the area is occupied by a strong metal mesh, under which there are two active speakers with a diameter of 45 mm in front. and characteristics of 4 Ohm 3 Watt. At the back is a 50x90 mm passive subwoofer, which is driven by the air pressure of active radiators.

All side faces are covered with a layer of rubber, and the connectors have plugs.

Thanks to the rubberized feet, the device stands securely on the surface even at high volume settings - and the device vibrates very well. Service information is also located here.

The left side is empty.

On the right side there is a solid carbine and the above plug.

Under the cap we find a full-fledged USB port, a MicroUSB connector for charging and an AUX output. You can connect devices to AUX in order to save power (bluetooth is still much more voracious) or if your device does not support bluetooth.

USB is intended solely for this device to act as a power bank. To do this, you don't even need to turn it on, you just need to connect, say, a smartphone and charging will go. As a battery, the Nillkin X-MAN contains two 18650 barrels - that is, 5200mAh. On this charge, the device works for 8-10 hours via bluetooth and twice as long on AUX.

The back cover is not as easy to install as we would like. For reliable fixation, you need to get into the AUX connector with a lump, which does not come out the first time.

All controls are located at the top of the column.

On the left there is a power button and a button that combines call answering, start and pause. To activate the device, you need to hold the power button for a second. To turn it off - just press it briefly. Both actions are accompanied by a sound signal.

The right side, in my opinion, is less functional - there are volume control and rewind buttons.

In the center we have 4 LEDs: blue for Bluetooth, and three white ones for indicating the battery charge. Next to the LEDs there is a quite solid microphone that can be used for speakerphone at home or in a car. I myself turned it on for chatting on Skype - my opponent had no complaints about the quality.

SOUND

Let's talk about the main characteristic of the Nillkin X-MAN - sound. Even when the speaker was turned on for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised: it vibrates very strongly and at the same time gives quite solid bass. After using my previous loudspeakers (BlitzWolf F1, EARSON ER-151), which could only indicate low frequencies, you can really listen to them here. In compositions, voices sound very natural and pleasant - I even connected a device to my laptop to watch videos on youtube.

VIDEO VERSION OF THE REVIEW

CONCLUSIONS

Summing up, Nillkin X-MAN was very pleasantly pleased with its low-frequency sound, design, special thanks for the good carbine, IPX4 protection and power bank function, which will undoubtedly come in handy. The speaker sounds really very loud and high quality, so you can not only drink tea with it, but also dance. The disadvantages include the price (Nillkin products are not cheap for a long time), complete cables and a solid weight of the device. Personally, I liked the device, I can recommend it for purchase.

There is a plug on the right.

Under it there are the following connectors: USB - for charging external devices in power bank mode, micro USB - for charging the speaker itself, AUX input for connecting external sound sources via an audio cable.

This time, 4800 mAh was added.

I tried to charge the Asus Zenfone Max smartphone from the column. The new smartphone has a 5000 mAh battery, but mine is no longer new.

Discharged up to 18%. I connect.

Managed to charge up to 89%.

Pretty good. Most smartphones with conventional batteries can be fully charged.

A soft beep is heard (no yelling in broken English), the blue LED lights up and the speaker is ready for pairing.

In the same place, in the country, I compared the saber column with Sardine SDY -019 (I took a photo together, I got lost).

The other day I received a column Xiaomi Square Box Generation 2.

I don’t know if this column can be called the best purchase for this money, but as an option to purchase it is quite worthy of attention.

That's all.

Best wishes. Enjoy summer days.

The column is packed in a box with a dust jacket. The view is presentable, the printing is of high quality. Box dimensions 195x124x65 mm.

On the reverse side, we can read about the technical characteristics of the product.

A high quality 60cm USB to micro USB cable is available.

And the audio cable is also 60 cm.

The speaker does not have a display, so the front view is very minimalistic.
