A program to turn off and turn on a smartphone according to a schedule. Automatically mute sounds and notifications at night

Sleep Timer program - Automatic shutdown Android functions smartphone.
Recently, audio players often add such a function as a sleep timer, which is very useful for those who often fall asleep to music and do not want the device to be discharged almost to zero overnight. An application with the identical name “Sleep Timer” will help you not only turn off the player, but also WiFi, Bluetooth, Mobile Internet and lock the screen. Sounds great, so let's see how well it works.

The weight of the application is very pleasantly surprising and pleasing, less than a megabyte. There is a timer on the main screen that can be adjusted in one minute increments. There are also special blanks at the bottom for quickly setting the time. It’s a shame that the developers didn’t add the ability to create similar templates yourself. After you have chosen the time, all that remains is to click on the Start button and you can continue to go about your business. The application has already been tested on more than 10 devices and all sorts of errors have been eliminated first, but if something does not work for you, then feel free to write about it on Google page Play.

In the settings you can choose which functions should be turned off after the timer ends, as well as configure the action on the button in the notification panel. Sleep Timer is a high-quality application that will not take up much space on your device, but can greatly simplify your life if you need to turn off system functions after a certain time.

In fact, this article is a continuation of our previous publication, in which we touched on ways to increase operating time mobile device on the Android operating system. During this time, I managed to find several good programs that allow me to more subtly and intelligently manage the power consumption of the device. One application will help you save battery in a simple and effective way. Second, it will detect a gluttonous program and even indicate the subprocess responsible for the increased consumption.

Go Power Master App

"Smart" turning on and off wireless interfaces

As I wrote earlier, the most important problem with the energy efficiency of a device is the user who forgets to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, data transmission cellular network. Everything is clear - we humans cannot boast of the order inherent in machines. However, this problem can be solved. For example, install the Go Power Master program.

This wonderful application can turn off wireless interfaces on a timer after the screen turns off. Set, for example, a minute and your phone will turn off Wi-Fi when you are not using it. The savings will be noticeable to you immediately.

The Go Power Master app also has a number of other useful features. For example, paid version can not only turn off wireless connections by timer, but also turn them on from time to time to check mail and synchronize. By default, it does this at 30 minute intervals.

Operating mode management

The Go Power Master program implements a number of mechanisms to save energy by using it more efficiently. For example, you can set a schedule for turning the Eco mode on and off at night. If your phone does not allow you to set it to turn on and off according to a schedule, this feature will be very useful.

Removing unnecessary energy consumers

Go Power Master allows you to analyze the rating of the strongest energy consumers and, if necessary, disable applications running in the background to save battery. These settings are ambiguous for me. The fact is that it would be more correct to configure the application to the correct operating mode if you really need it. All clients social networks, for example, there is a setting for synchronization frequency. Maybe it’s better to understand the settings of individual programs than to massively “kill” background applications every time?

The capabilities of the Power Go PRO version can be obtained in a way other than transferring money. You can simply download and start using several of their partners' programs. This required me to download five applications. One of them, by the way, has taken root on my tablet.

There is an important note. When using such programs that can turn off Wi-Fi in idle mode using a timer, do not forget about automatic application updates. The programs begin to update automatically, and then the connection turns off and the installation of new versions of the programs ends with an error. In this situation, I advise turning off automatic update and update programs manually once a week.

Wakelock Detector-Save battery app

Actually, it is not difficult to find out the main energy consumers using systemic means. In “settings”, find the “battery” item. All applications that “eat” the battery more than others will be shown there. But the reason is not indicated there. To find the reasons for increased battery consumption, it was written special program Wakelock Detector. The algorithm is simple. Install the program. After the next charge, we use the phone as usual. When a sufficiently long period of time has passed, look at the Wakelock Detector report.

One of the main reasons for increased energy consumption lies in the constant disruption of the “sleep” of our device. This happens because programs hanging in the background sometimes try to update something from the network or synchronize something.

The most typical examples are checking Email or weather forecast. It was on frequent weather updates that I managed to catch Yandex.Shell after it began to consume too much battery after the next update. I expanded the Yandex.Shell line in the list of applications that “wake up” the phone and found that it was the weather update service that woke up the phone.

To make the application show subprocesses, check the “advanced mode” checkbox in its settings!

We looked at two more applications that can help you extend the battery life of your mobile device. Go Power Master claims to stay in your phone for a long time. Wakelock Detector is still a utility utility - you need to find out the thief of battery energy - downloaded and then deleted.

Perhaps every user mobile phone or a smartphone, there was a situation when a call rang in the middle of the night, and, getting tangled in a blanket, chairs and other furniture on the way to the “tube”, you answered the incoming call and... It turns out that the caller needs some Vasya, Petya, Fedya or another Masha, the existence of which the owner of an Android smartphone does not even suspect, not to mention the fact that he may know them personally.

A very unpleasant situation, you will agree. Even annoying, especially if sleep was interrupted before a hard day at work. But this article is devoted to solving the very possibility of such a problem.

So, for the operating room Android systems there are a whole bunch of applications that, depending on conditions, including the time of day, change the smartphone settings, for example, the volume of the melody incoming call, turn Wi-Fi connection or GPS on or off. Programs of this kind are usually called profile management managers. But the trouble is that most of those represented in Google Play(Android Market) profile managers are paid, but free ones have limited functionality. But, fortunately, there are exceptions, and we are talking about one of them - Llama. Llama – absolutely free application, which, nevertheless, is made of very high quality. Consider turning off the sound at night using Llama.

Of course, first, the specified application must be downloaded and installed on our smartphone. We launch Llama, and in the “Profiles” tab we see 4 standard ones, which are more than enough to get started. We open the “Events” tab, where we see many different events. They are not ordered in the best way, so first we turn them all off completely. To do this, long press on the desired event and select “Disable” from the menu. You can even delete events altogether, but in case you ever need them, just turn them off.

Once you have sorted out the events, click the plus on the bottom panel to create a profile. Let's call it “Night,” although you can specify any name you wish.

Select the “Add condition” item, select the “Time period” item from the drop-down list and set the desired time - let it be from 23:00 to 7:00. You can set any other time at which you usually sleep.

After creating the event, click “Add action”, select “Profile” in the drop-down list. Select the “Mute” or “Silent” profile as desired.

Since our smartphone constantly consumes precious charge battery For wireless connections and the operation of the radio module, which are not needed at night, you can turn on “Airplane mode”, that is, turn them off at night. If suddenly someone calls you at night, then most likely in the morning you will receive a short text message with information about a missed call - most operators cellular communications support this feature. You can, of course, leave wireless connections on if you don’t want to miss some important night call while you’re awake, or if, for example, you need constant synchronization various services via an Internet connection. To select the activation of “Airplane Mode”, in the “Add Action” menu, select the item “Airplane Mode” - “Airplane Mode On” from the drop-down list.

Ready. As a result, it should look like this screenshot:

Also, don’t forget that you need to turn on sound alerts and wireless interfaces in the morning. Therefore, we create events with the name “Day”, perform similar actions, only we set the values opposite to those that we set for our “Night” profile.

Description:

The application is more for tablets than for phones. The name speaks for itself - scheduled shutdown. With it, you can specify when and at what time the device needs to turn off. At first glance, where could this be useful? For example, when watching a movie or listening to music, or if you want your child not to play more than the allotted time. The application is very easy to use. Download this application possible from our website. To work, you need to have superuser rights (ROOT), but if you do not have them, the application most likely will not work. Also, for some reason, the application only works when the Internet is turned on.

Main screen:

On the main screen you need to select one of the shutdown options:
- daily at the specified time;
- weekly on the specified day of the week and time;
- once on the selected date and time;
- and when a critical battery charge level is reached.
In the selected option, you need to select the date and time at which the device will turn off. You can also change in the settings color design and set the time after which the device will turn off after reaching the timer.

Conclusion:

I see only one rational use for the application scheduled shutdown- this turns off the device when a certain battery level is reached. After some tests, I can say with confidence that the application fully fulfills its functions, but the annoying ads that constantly pop up just drive me crazy. The application does not deserve more than 2 points.
