Alcatel one touch pixi 3 screen resolution. Memory cards are used in mobile devices to increase the storage capacity for storing data

When we started writing this article, or rather a mini-review, we thought about the “introductory part” for quite some time. How can we present a new product, sales of which began not so long ago in the Beeline operator’s communication stores, as another budget smartphone with LTE or as another bright representative of the PIXI 3 Family line from Alcatel. In principle, both approaches to the announcement are fair. In January 2015, at CES 2015, Alcatel announced the launch of a new line of smartphones Alcatel One Touch, which was called PIXI 3. Quite a lot of devices were announced within this line, and it’s not difficult to get confused. Judge for yourself, if earlier, for example, in response to the question “What phone do you have?”, for example, Nokia or Samsung - everything was more or less clear, now, even if the owner answers you - Alcatel PIXI3, then this is not will say absolutely nothing. Why? Because the PIXI3 line of smartphones has many different modifications. There are both 3G and 4G/LTE devices here. Screen sizes also differ within the line, so you can find 3.5" devices that fit in your pocket or their 5" versions. At the same time, some of the models differ not only in screen diagonal, the presence or absence of 4G (and therefore different chips used in a smartphone), but also the OS installed on them - in the PIXI 3 line you can find both familiar Android or Windows Phone, and Firefox OS. Which of course brings some confusion. The only way To “identify” a particular phone model of a given family is to indicate the model, i.e. her numbers.

And in today's mini-review we will look at Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X. Here you need to pay attention to the model - 5017X, because... in the PIXI 3 line there are several different devices with a 4.5" screen, even similar in appearance, but at the same time having completely different technical characteristics. Returning to our device (5017X), we note that its sales started in Beeline just last week and the price of the device is within the framework of the promotion, i.e. when connecting to a certain package of services, it is only 3990 rubles. Which, you see, is not so expensive for an LTE smartphone with a 4.5" display and modern Android 5.1 on board. We would like to note in advance that MTS also sells a 4.5" device from the PIXI3 family, but this is a completely different model - 4027D, which does not have 4G/LTE due to an earlier chip from MediaTek, which simply does not support it. We once again emphasize your attention to the model, since the name Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) in this case only indicates that the device belongs to a certain line, but does not reveal its technical characteristics in any way.

In this review, one of the bloggers has already compared the 4027D and 5017X models, so we will not dwell on the comparison in detail. And let's move on directly to considering the technical characteristics of our device.

Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) 5017X (rear view)

As you can see, the device fits quite easily (and comfortably) in your hand. The case is made in the form of a monoblock on the front panel of which there is speaker And touch buttons controls in the form of a triangle, circle and square. These are the styles that the operating room uses. Android system 5.1 for smartphones that do not have hardware control buttons. Here they are, so you don’t have to worry about the space taken up on the screen with “soft” control buttons. On the back everything is standard - Alcatel OneTouch and Pixi logos, as well as a 5 MPix main camera and LED flash. On the right side of the case there is a volume rocker and a power button, at the bottom there is a connector for connecting a microUSB cable and charging:

The smartphone comes in three colors - black, white and pink. We got black, or rather volcanic black (Volcano Black), as Alcatel correctly calls it. After turning on the device for the first time, it seemed to us that it took quite a long time to initialize, however initial setup connections to WiFi networks And Google account It didn’t take long, and a worker appeared before us Android desk 5.1. A few screenshots from the interface you can see below:

As you can see, the user-available memory in the device by default is approximately 3.50 GB, and in the popular AnTuTu Benchmark v5.7.1 test, the Alcatel 5017X scores 19,421 points, which is quite a decent result for a budget device with LTE. As for communications, the device caught the network quickly and without problems, there are no particular complaints about the quality of transmission of spoken language (we read “as everywhere else”), however, do not forget that if you purchased this device from Beeline, then by default you will be able to use it is only available with SIM cards from this operator (there is even a corresponding inscription about this on the box “the smartphone is initially configured to work in the Beeline network”). When you try to insert a SIM from another operator into it, the Alcatel 5017X will ask you for a special device code (network unlock code):

After successfully entering this, the phone can be used with any SIM. One of the ways to obtain an unlock code is to order it on our trading platform. The advantage of this method is to instantly receive the network unlock code for Alcatel 5017X at any time convenient for you. To place an order, you will need to know the IMEI of your device (15-digit number), which can be found on the sticker / on the box or, better yet, by typing the combination on the phone itself *#06# .

Today we’ll look at a budget tablet in all respects Alcatel One Touch pixi 3, which, as it turned out in practice, fulfills all its obligations. For the amount of $80 we get a dual-core processor and 512 MB random access memory, this is of course not very much, but for surfing the Internet, watching videos and listening to audio, it is quite enough. Also, weak cameras will not take high-quality photos, but, as it were, the tablet is not positioned as a selfie device. Additionally, it is worth noting that the device is assembled quite well and has a screen with good color reproduction, but a small expansion. Ideal for those people who do not like to spend a lot of money on this kind of gadgets, but would not mind enjoying all the advantages of the modern world. Moreover, Alcatel One Touch pixi 3 is bought mainly by children, for obvious reasons. Overall, it’s a pretty good tablet, especially considering its price, I definitely recommend taking a closer look at it

Alcatel One Touch pixi 3 Reviews

— The price-quality ratio is undoubtedly pleasing;

— The quality of the photos is far from the best due to the weak camera;

— Not a bad touchscreen;

— For the cost of $70, we get a dual-core processor that copes with its responsibilities.

— Little RAM, although it will be quite enough for surfing the Internet.;

— Fits quite well in the hands;

The build quality matches the price;

- Copes well with navigation programs. Quickly searches for satellites;

— The battery is quite decent, if used at maximum load it should be enough for a full working day;

— The screen is the most ordinary. Color rendition is within normal limits. The eyes practically do not get tired from such a screen;

The system works stably, and there is no large amount of pre-installed software that then has to be removed;

- Included detailed instructions;

— The back cover fits perfectly in the hands;

— Convenient tablet size;

— This device is bought mainly by children, which is not surprising, since if something happens to the device, the amount is not that big;

— A large number of positive responses on the network;

— Regarding the screen expansion, it is only 1024*700 pixels, which is certainly not enough for 2016. The same can be said for the system as a whole, therefore, the most modern games obviously won’t work, but for everything else the One Touch pixi 3 can be used

Conclusion

This tablet will be popular, first of all, among children and their parents, as well as among those people who do not like to spend a large amount cash for various gadgets. Overall, the Alcatel One Touch pixi 3 leaves more positive memories than negative ones.

Rated 7/10 for value

Of course the price

Assembly. Relatively good build for $80;

Android. All the advantages of this operating system;

Screen. Relatively good;

Screen expansion. Probably the smallest on the market;

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - sensor of the device’s position in space. As the main function, the accelerometer is used to automatic change orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer; it can control various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures rotation angles relative to a fixed coordinate system. Capable of measuring rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. A gyroscope together with an accelerometer allows you to accurately determine the position of the device in space. Devices that use only accelerometers have lower measurement accuracy, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor that sets the optimal brightness and contrast values for this level illumination The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to your face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental clicks. The presence of a sensor allows you to increase the battery life of the device.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the magnetic poles of the Earth. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for terrain orientation.
Sensor atmospheric pressure - sensor for precise measurement of atmospheric pressure. Is a part GPS systems, allows you to determine altitude above sea level and speed up location determination.
Touch ID- fingerprint identification sensor.

Approximations

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System) is a satellite navigation system that provides measurements of distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on Earth. The system is developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine location by measuring distances to an object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated by the delay time of signal propagation from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the antenna of the GPS receiver.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American system GPS navigation. GLONASS is designed for operational navigation and timing support for land, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that GLONASS satellites in their orbital motion do not have resonance (synchrony) with the rotation of the Earth, which provides them with greater stability.

Positioning

Segment inexpensive smartphones It’s becoming more and more noticeable every year, but if recently buying an official device with Android on board for less than 3,000-4,000 rubles seemed impossible, then after the Megafon Login model appeared on the market, the situation changed dramatically. The company brought to Russia the simplest device possible Android based, invested serious money in advertising and sold the smartphone virtually at cost, making money from the sale of contracts that go towards the “load” of the device. Following MegaFon, two other operators presented similar models under their own brands big three– Beeline and MTS.

Today there are already a lot of smartphones in the category up to 3,000 rubles on the market, and although these are mostly similar offers from different brands, there is plenty to choose from. In this review, I want to talk about the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 4007D smartphone, its retail price is about 2,000 rubles, but in the Svyaznoy chain of stores this model is on sale for 990 rubles, so the result is a very interesting offer even on background of the updated Megafon Login 2.

The promotion is called “It’s hard to imagine such a price” and runs from May 1 to June 30. At the time of buying Alcatel smartphone One Touch Pixi 4007D in Svyaznoy stores you can take along with it a SIM card from MTS with tariff plan « Super MTS» for 100 rubles (then it is converted to the “Smart” tariff) and deposit 900 rubles into your account. If this condition is met, the cost of the smartphone will not be 1,990 rubles, but 990. Accordingly, you will need to spend the same 1,990 rubles, but 950 of them end up in your account, on a new SIM card with the “Smart” tariff plan. This option is interesting for those who need the most inexpensive Android device and also need a new SIM card for mobile internet, For example. Now about the device itself.

Design, case materials

The device is available in three colors – black, white and dark blue. In all versions, the front side and part of the plastic around the perimeter are painted black, the only difference is the color of the battery cover. In the photo you see a smartphone in white. The plastic around the perimeter is matte, on the front side there is an insert made of glossy plastic. The battery cover is also glossy.

The Pixi 4007D looks simple and without pretensions, at the same time, there is nothing to complain about here - no decorative things, unnecessary elements or inserts. Universal design without pretensions.

Assembly, body wear

The build quality is high - the removable cover fits very tightly to the surface of the case, there are no large cracks or gaps between the structural elements, which is even surprising for a smartphone at this price. There are only two complaints - the glossy plastic quickly gets dirty and “collects” fingerprints and dust, and is also covered with the smallest scratches. So if the smartphone is used as an access point and carried somewhere in the depths of a backpack or bag, you should be prepared for rapid wear of the case.

Dimensions

The smartphone is small, fits perfectly in the hand, and you can hold and operate the device with one hand. Dimensions: 115 x 62.3 x 12.2 mm, weight – 118 grams.

Controls

On the front panel, under the screen, there are three touch keys - “Back”, “Home” and “Menu”. The buttons are not backlit, the touch area does not always accurately process presses; you need to press each key with force and at the marking point, otherwise the press may not be processed.

On the left edge there is a volume key, on the top end there is a power button and a 3.5 mm mini-jack. The speaking microphone hole is located under the touch keys block on the front panel.

Each time you touch a touch key, the device vibrates; vibration can be turned off in the smartphone settings.

Above the screen there is a speaker, an indicator light and a sensor for automatically adjusting the screen backlight level.

Slots for two SIM cards (miniSIM) and a memory card (microSD) are located under the battery.

The smartphone reads memory cards up to 32 GB, in addition, the device comes pre-installed file manager, so you can work with the contents of the card immediately by taking the device out of the box and turning it on.

Screen

IN Alcatel Pixi The 4007D has a capacitive TFT touch screen with a diagonal of 3.5” and a resolution of 320x480 pixels (HVGA). The display displays up to 262 thousand colors, has a good brightness reserve with the function of automatically adjusting the backlight level and mediocre viewing angles.

The protective surface above the screen is a layer of transparent plastic.

Camera

The smartphone has a camera with VGA resolution (0.3 MP), so there is no point in talking about the quality of the resulting images or settings. The camera is not suitable for anything, it is just there for show.

In the camera settings, you can set the image resolution to 2 MP, in this case the size is increased by interpolating the images, it looks like this:

VGA 2 MP

Autonomous operation

The capacity of the removable battery in the smartphone is 1300 mAh. The operating time declared by the manufacturer in 2G mode is up to 500 hours in standby mode and up to 13 hours in talk mode, in 3G - up to 300 hours in standby mode and up to 7 hours in talk mode.

In reality, a smartphone with two active SIM cards works in standby mode for more than a week without problems. If you use it occasionally for calls (a couple of times a day, as a second phone), the operating time is also calculated in days, on average it is 3-5 days, depending on activity.

Performance

The smartphone is built on the MTK 6575 platform with a single-core 1 GHz processor, equipped with 256 MB of RAM and about 100 MB of memory for storing user data. This volume is barely enough to install a couple of programs and toys, so if you plan to use the smartphone not only as a portable access point, you need to immediately buy a memory card for it.

The speed of the smartphone is far from good, especially when compared with top-end devices. But you can look at it from the other side. For a phone costing 1,000 rubles, the performance is more than adequate - there are no serious lags or delays when working with the interface, and pauses in the launch of programs for such a weak hardware are quite natural, but they can also be experienced.

Interfaces

The smartphone operates in GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and UMTS (900/2100) networks. Both high-speed data transfer standards are supported - EDGE and HSDPA. The first SIM card slot is intended for use as calls and for 2G/3G mobile Internet, the SIM card in the second one works only in the 2G band. To synchronize with a PC and transfer data, the included microUSB cable is used. USB interface 2.0.

Built-in module Bluetooth 4.0 (A2DP). Most common profiles are supported.

Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n). In my sample, the Wi-Fi module worked flawlessly.

Wi-Fi router . The smartphone has a function of “sharing” 2G/3G Internet connection via Wi-Fi. In settings wireless networks select the “Modem mode” option, then “Wi-Fi router”. In the settings you can select the network name, password, and connection type (open, WPA2).

Implementation of operation of two SIM cards

The device has one radio module, therefore, if you speak using one SIM card, the other is unavailable at that moment and when you call it, the person will hear the phrase “the subscriber is unavailable.” In the settings, you can assign a color to each SIM card and change the name. When you make a call or send a message, a pop-up menu appears asking you to select a SIM card with which to perform the action. In the settings you can also disable the appearance of this window and simply select the “default” SIM card.

Navigation

There is no GPS support in the smartphone, there is only coordinate determination additional funds(A-GPS). To work with cards like Google Maps or Yandex Maps, the accuracy provided by A-GPS is quite sufficient, but full-fledged navigation software will not work on a smartphone.

Software

The smartphone runs Android 2.3 OS with a proprietary shell from Alcatel. Yes, the system version is outdated, but most programs work for it, and it’s simply pointless to demand more from a device for that kind of money.

The era of smartphones is increasingly displacing “old-style” push-button phones from everyday life, with a minimal set of functions and far from the most best characteristics. And Alcatel only supported the general idea by releasing quite good, inexpensive, but quality smartphones. One of them - Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3(its review will go a little further), it deserves attention and can be considered as a mobile device for every day - well built, convenient and affordable, this phone has won its right to exist in modern world electronics.

Characteristics of Alcatel Van Touch Pixie 3

What was Alcatel betting on when introducing its new products to the public? First of all, on the “golden” combination of cost and functional load. A fairly powerful 2-core 32-bit MediaTek MT 6572M processor with a clock frequency of 1 GHz fully complies with the internal software of the gadget and successfully runs all programs and applications installed by the manufacturer. Operating system presented Android version 4.4.2. And even if this is not the most latest model operating system, but taking into account that the phone is capable of updating itself to subsequent versions, this generally does not look so tragic.

In addition, the already existing characteristics of the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 are adequately complemented by its compact dimensions - 121.3x64.2x11.6 mm and low weight - only 110 grams. These are the models that fit comfortably in any hand and do not look bulky. The screen is a touch screen, multi-touch with a TFT matrix and an average diagonal of 4 inches, capable of simultaneously distinguishing up to 2 touches and does not suffer from poor color rendering or weak contrast. On the contrary, everything is at the good level that can be expected from smartphones of this series. The screen resolution is 800x480 pixels and produces an image density of 233 pixels per inch. Also this model Available with a diagonal of 3.5 inches and a resolution of 480x320 pixels, and 4.5 and 5-inch screens, their resolution is already 854 x 480 pixels.

Color

Externally, the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 4013D (reviews of which, by the way, indicate that the model will be popular) is not much different from any typical smartphones - the front panel is made of glass (note, however, that it is ordinary), the back is made of matte plastic, pleasant to the touch and not particularly dirty, the brand logo is also present, the corners are softly rounded with smooth lines. This sample does not provide any special features for phones, so if necessary additional protection, you will have to purchase it yourself separately. Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 can be found in several colors: classic black called “Volcanic Black”, regular white (white), silver and pink (pink). It is worth noting that only the color changes back cover, the front panel remains black. Immediate support available 2 SIM cards (Dual). Year of release - 2015.

Operating time and memory capacity

The Alcatel Van Touch Pixie 3 battery can also be considered standard; its capacity is 1400 mAh - this allows you to use the device in standby mode for about 2 days. In conversation mode and other activities (Internet, music, games...) the time is naturally reduced and in this case the period from charge to charge will be no more than 8 hours.

There is exactly as much RAM as is required to service this model - 512 MB, the main one is 4 GB, but you can buy up to 32 GB by installing a card with microSD memory into the appropriate slot. The smartphone has voice navigation function and standard set technologies wireless communication- Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and also supported technology Edge. For music lovers, there is a built-in stereo-FM radio.

Camera

There are two cameras for photography and video, as befits a decent smartphone - a regular one with 2 megapixels and a resolution of 1980x1020 pixels, and a front one with 0.3 megapixels and a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels. The quality of photos and videos is slightly enhanced by the automatic LED flash, but there is no autofocus, so images will definitely not be clear at long distances. To get optimal pictures and shoot more or less high-quality video, you will have to choose short distances and an acceptable level of illumination of objects. During video recording, the camera is capable of capturing up to 30 frames per second and saving the finished product in the MP4 or H.264 extension, the maximum video resolution will be 1280x720.

To summarize, we can say that the price offered for the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 3 is remarkably consistent with its internal content. Yes, without any frills or bells and whistles, but this is a great option when you can save money without losing quality. Specifications Alcatel keeps up with the times, there are no special glitches or freezes in the system, and in addition, this smartphone, due to the presence of two SIM cards, can easily replace two regular phones.

You can buy this cute toy in many large and small stores - for example, it has long been announced in the online store
