How to create a notepad on Windows 10. Where is Notepad? Key Features and Functions

Hello to all readers I have Windows 10, to be honest I like it, there’s nothing particularly cool here, but it seems to work a little faster than Windows 7. Although the style, well, I mean the design of Windows 7, I somehow like it better. In Windows 10, the style is kind of edgy. Okay, let's get down to business. In this post I will tell you where the notepad is located in Windows 10. Favorite, simple and most importantly convenient notepad

Notepad is super: you can always create a text document and write something down there, there are no unnecessary bells and whistles, the text document opens in any Windows, it works quickly, what else do you need? He's a notepad in Africa too!

So, notepad is a program that has its own launch file and a folder where the program actually lives. Notepad is a Windows system component, which is why the program lives in system folder C:\Windows, here it is, the notepad.exe file (this is notepad):

This Windows folder can be opened very easily, do you know how? I'll show you a cool way now! Press the Win + R buttons and in the Run window write the following command:

That's it, click OK and Windows folder opened. Just don’t dare delete anything from there; if you delete something, there may be glitches and terrible lags, in short, remember this! So, if you run the notepad.exe file, that is, double-click on it, then His Majesty the notepad itself will appear:

In the Format menu you can select the desired font size, and the font itself can also be changed:

Well, did you understand the main thing? Well, where is notepad in Windows 10? I hope you understand! Now what else can I say. I wrote that notepad is a system component, so you can launch it even if you just hold down Win + R and write the notepad command. And it’s even possible right click Go to Start and select Command Prompt:

And in the black window we also write notepad:

We press enter and notepad opens again:

But here, guys, it’s important to understand that a notepad and a text document are not the same thing. If you just launch Notepad and then write something there, then you still need to save it. But there is good news, when you close the notepad, it will tell you, hey, maybe you can save what you wrote here somewhere? This is the message.

The Notepad program is a simple text editor, which is designed for creating and editing text files (Text Files). There are many text editors. Notepad differs from them in that it does not have a toolbar, a formatting bar, or a full-fledged status bar.

Two reasons power users love Notepad

Despite the simplicity of Notepad, this editor is often used by experienced users, for example, when working with a modem. This is due to the fact that in Notepad you can create, or open and edit files with the following (extensions, formats):

  • .txt,
  • .bat,
  • .ini
  • .sys,
  • .wri,
  • .dat.

Another reason why confident users like to use Notepad is that the file created and saved in this program will be “clean”. In other words, such a file will not be loaded with additional code, unlike a file passed through the MS Word text editor.

Many beginners face this problem when creating their first website. They prepare articles for the site in the Word editor, and then copy them directly to their site, along with a bunch of unnecessary, additional code from Word. Therefore, it is better to insert articles onto the site from Notepad, then there will be no unnecessary code.

How to open Windows Accessories

IN operating systems ah Windows XP, 7, 8 there are standard programs, in Windows 8 they are called “ standard applications" They are built into the Windows operating system just like pockets are sewn into a dress, that is, they are always there, you just need to find them, open them and use them!

How to find standard programs for Windows is described in detail in this article using Notepad as an example.

Notepad is one of the standard component programs of Windows OS. It means that this program must be attached to any version of this operating system. Actually, here we can already see one of the main advantages of Notepad - the absence of the need additional installation. The notepad is already in the system, you just need to find it and open it.

Also among the obvious advantages of the program, in addition to accessibility, is its obvious ease of use. Missing option detailed settings and text formatting, however, if you need to quickly write down text without waiting for Word to launch, this program is the best solution.

Notepad is especially popular among experienced users, since this text editor allows you to software edit and view system files programs.

The tenth version of the Microsoft OS, by tradition, also has this simple program in its functionality. Notepad did not acquire any particularly revolutionary functionality, however, with the advent of new version The number of ways in which you can launch it has also increased. The first, simplest and most obvious way.

On a note! If for some reason there is no “Search” icon on the bottom panel, you can open it by right-clicking on the “Start” icon. IN open menu you just need to select “Find”.

Another one of the simplest ways.

Using the command line

The most sophisticated, but no less reliable way. Suitable for more experienced users, as it involves manipulation of the main console. It also helps if none of the previous methods work for some reason. Let's break it down in three simple steps.

Ready! Now you are familiar with all the ways to launch this program.

Similar software includes the Paint graphics editor supplied with the system and other special applications. However, among this kind of tools, the Notepad program occupies a very special place.

Notepad program and its functionality

Indeed, Notepad (translated as notepad) seems to be an absolutely indispensable element of this. Like a regular classic notepad, it is designed to take notes without using complex means formatting.

Some users want to download notepad for Windows 10 without knowing that this application is already present in the system and ready to use.

This program has quite a lot of specific features, including:

  • Stripped-down functionality and a simple interface, which makes it possible to quickly master the basics of operating the program;
  • Fast operation and low requirements for computer resources;
  • A minimalist interface, where all the relevant functions and categories are located extremely well.

You can launch the program in two different ways, which allows you to choose the most appropriate one in each specific case.

Launching Notepad

To open the notepad program, you can use the usual one. To do this, you need to select All applications, then go to the Standard tab, where the Notepad application will be located. After launch, a window will open on the screen for entering text. When attempting to save the entered text, the user will be prompted to specify a name for the resulting file.

Because the this method involves using the Start menu, which for most users is cluttered with unnecessary items and unnecessary categories; another method that allows you to open Notepad without leaving the desktop is popular.

To do this, you need to right-click on an icon-free area of the desktop, and then click the Create category. Among the options offered by the system, you should click on the item Text document. After this, it will be created on the desktop new file, which must be opened to make changes. Once you have finished entering all the required information into such a file, you should rename it to avoid confusion.
