How to paste a fragment from the clipboard. Effective work with the clipboard. What is a clipboard

When working with a device on the Android platform, the user can copy the link or the text and will receive the following notification: "Copied to the clipboard". What is the clipboard on the phone, where it is located and how to work with it, I will tell you in detail in this article.

What it is?

The clipboard is a part of the memory where the copied information is stored. It can be used many times, for example by pasting the copied link or text into any text editor, browser, messenger, etc. The copied information can be used as long as you do not clear the buffer or overwrite with other information (for example, by copying another link).

How it works?

Everything is very simple:

Advice! If you are, it is also copied to the clipboard and then saved to separate folder... In this case, the previously saved information is deleted.

Where is?

The clipboard is in random access memory devices. As such, there is no specific clipboard placement. RAM automatically allocates the required amount of resources for temporary storage of the copied file.

How to use the clipboard to the maximum?

Typically, this function will only store one copied information. With further copying, the information in the clipboard is overwritten and access to the previous one is lost forever.

Built-in capabilities of Android devices

Some models of smartphones allow you to store not one, but several pieces of information in the clipboard. In order to select the inserted fragment, after a long hold, in the input field, select the "Clipboard" function and select the desired fragment.

Applications

Unfortunately, not all smartphones are capable of boasting such a function, but there is a way out.

Exist special programs for example Clipper. They save any information that you copy to the clipboard.

With this function, you can:

  • not to worry about the loss of data and not to be interrupted while copying several pieces of information in a row;
  • quickly access any saved information copied to the clipboard;
  • store important data that you often use to insert (email, mobile phone, login from the site, etc.);
  • edit, group and share saved notes with friends.

The free version of Clipper allows you to store up to 20 saved fragments in memory. Paid version the program removes this limitation.

Conclusion

Why don't they make a built-in clipboard manager in Android, you ask. The developers don't do this for one simple reason - security. We can store anything in the clipboard. And this information is stored in open access... There is a risk that users will massively use the clipboard manager and, accordingly, will save confidential information in the public domain. And this should never be allowed.

Have you ever thought about the fact that every day our computer performs hundreds of thousands of different processes. IN everyday use the clipboard is constantly located, which inexperienced users, most likely, have not even heard of. In this article you will find answers to questions such as what is a buffer, where is it arranged and what is it used for?

What is the clipboard?

The clipboard is an intermediate data storage used to transfer any selected information, for example, from a web page to any text editor. Information in the clipboard (original word - with of English language) can be reused. That is, there are no restrictions on the use of one selected piece of text.

What can be copied to the clipboard?

Intermediate data storage allows you to transfer not only text information, but also media files. For example, thanks to him, each user (PC user) can transfer images of various formats, audio and video clips.

How to save to clipboard?

Сlipboard in all Windows operating systems works according to the same principle. Transferring temporary information to a special storage compartment is a very easy process. The first step is to copy (or cut) the required piece of information that you want to use. The selected information is placed on a special area of RAM, where it is stored.

Only one record is stored in the intermediate storage. That is, if you first copied some text, and then any other information (for example, an image), then the first record will be erased, and the second one will appear in its place (in our case, the image that we copied). This suggests that the information in the clipboard is constantly being rewritten. This process takes place automatically, but not without the participation of the user.

Working with clipboard is possible using special "hot" keyboard shortcuts:

Full automatic cleaning of clipboard occurs when you turn off or restart your computer. Using this function simplifies and facilitates work with the device, because thanks to it, information that is available in most Windows programs does not need to be typed on the keyboard yourself, you can simply copy and paste it into the file you need.

How do I find my clipboard?

After learning about clipboard, most users ask themselves the question: how to open the clipboard? Despite the fact that it is hidden from users, it is still possible to find it.

In computers with different operating Windows systems the location of the clipboard is practically unchanged. Still, how do you view the clipboard?

  • Windows XP... In this operating system, the intermediate temporary data store is located in system folder which can be found in two ways:
  1. directly to the address C: / WINDOWS / system32;
  2. via the start menu: enter the menu and open the command line by simultaneously pressing the "Windows" keys (located between the "fn" and "alt" keys) + R. In the window that opens, enter "clipbrd.exe" and click "OK".

By launching clipboard in one of the listed ways, you can view all the information stored in it.

  • Clipboard in Windows 7 and Windows 8... On these operating systems, the name of the staging store has been changed to "clip.exe". The location of the file remains the same, but the ability to open it is no longer there.
  • Clipboard in Windows 10... As already mentioned, in latest versions OS Windows name changed to "clip.exe". But as in the previous two versions, it is not possible for users to open and view it. Unless using special widgets, which can be downloaded from various Internet resources for free. Such additions allow you to view not only the last history of saving information, but also for a certain period (day, week, and in some cases for a whole month).

How do I clear the clipboard in Windows?

In this article, it has already been mentioned that clipboard has the ability to overwrite information in automatic mode. As a result, the information contained in it before is cleared. This is one of the ways to clear the clipboard in Windows - copy new information.

You can remove information from the clipboard using command line... To do this, by calling it (how to do this was already mentioned above), you must enter the following command: C: \ Users> echo off: clip and press the Enter key. After that, the permanent cleaning of the temporary file storage will begin.

If you often clear the clipboard, for your convenience, you can create a shortcut on the desktop, in the location of which by specifying this combination: cmf c “echo off | clip ". After launching such a shortcut, a window will immediately open to you to clear the temporary files storage.

The clipboard is an intermediate memory area that can be used to transfer data between applications. The buffer can be stored as text and graphic information and files.

Perhaps some of you will think, "Yes, I have known this for a long time!" However, not every novice computer user knows what a clipboard is, how to work with it and how to copy information to the clipboard.

Not every advanced user knows that several buffers can be stored in the clipboard at once. Indeed, by default, the operating system provides only one buffer. Those. if you have information in the buffer, then the next information that you copy to the buffer will overwrite the previous one.

Therefore, in this note, both beginners and experienced users will be able to learn new and useful information for themselves.

The most common use of the clipboard is when you work with text, graphics, or files. The standard procedure for copying to Windows Explorer the buffer is just being used. After all, as you remember, first you need to select objects (files or folders) and then use the right mouse button to select the copy menu. By doing this, you copy the information to the clipboard. To actually make a copy now, you need to move to another directory and call there right click mouse menu and select paste.

In addition to the mouse, the clipboard can be used with hotkeys. In any version operating system these hotkeys are standard. It is recommended to memorize these combinations, because interaction with the buffer occurs constantly and the fastest way to do this is using hot combinations.

There are several possible combinations:

  • Copy the selected objects to the clipboard: Ctrl + C or
    Ctrl + Insert.
  • Cut selected objects to the clipboard (for moving): Ctrl + X or Shift + Delete.
  • Paste from clipboard: Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert.

You can use any of a couple of hot combinations that you prefer. You can insert information from the buffer as many times as you like. After restarting the computer, the buffer is reset to zero. When copying new information its previous contents are lost to the buffer.

However, as I announced at the beginning of this post, it is possible to create multiple buffers at the same time. Thus, everything that you copy to the buffer is saved and you can use any copy of the buffer. Very handy when you work with large amounts of text or graphics.

Since there is essentially only one buffer, special programs come to the rescue in this case. They are called buffer managers. There are many different buffer managers and you can choose from this variety. Although I personally like the clipdiary buffer manager. It is quite easy to use, takes up little space and contains all the necessary functions.

During my student days, the clipboard manager saved me a lot of time when I wrote essays, term papers and theses.

Here are the main features of clipboard managers:

  • have multiple buffers with the ability to combine, split and edit their contents
  • select the buffer where the cut or copied data will be saved
  • select the buffer from which data will be inserted
  • work with data of different formats
  • save data for storage
  • index, mark and search the stored data

Clipdiary has Russian language support. The program itself can be downloaded from the official website of the program.

For simplicity, you can download portable version programs. When you start it for the first time, clipdiary will ask you to make all the necessary settings and give you a short instruction.

Watch the video in which I show you how to use hotkeys to work with the clipboard, as well as demonstrate the convenience of using the clipboard manager.

I wish you a pleasant viewing!

Those of you who really work with large amounts of text and graphics will appreciate the benefits of a clipboard manager. It really saves time!

Hopefully the question is, is now completely exhausted.

I wish you success and see you soon!
