Xiaomi mi4 full review. Detailed review of Xiaomi Mi4i. Telephone functions and navigation

Xiaomi is not shy about releasing the same models with different sauces. And the market reacts to this normally, because the manufacturer does not break prices for new items, and innovations seem to be timely and appropriate (although knowing the need for a release Redmi note 3 Pro almost immediately after Redmi Note 3 (unboxing) we still have to). It would seem that just recently the Mi4i model (review) was released, which is a rethinking of Mi4, and now Mi4c is already being sold with might and main, which is in no way inferior to Mi4i. Let's understand the innovations.

We would like to thank the GearBest.com online store for the device. He currently sells the Mi4c with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, and the 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM upgrade will cost you. Perhaps by the time you read this, the prices have already changed - check the website.

Video review and unpacking

A video review will be added in a few days.

Design and equipment

The phone is available in several colors and the box has received an orange design to emphasize the bright nature of the device. Inside, everything is standard: a smartphone, documentation, charging with a Chinese plug, USB cable Type-C, needle for opening the SIM tray. In addition, there are general instructions in English from the store and an adapter for our sockets (perhaps they no longer come).

Mi4c and Redmi Note 3

For those who have seen the Mi4i review, the Mi4c will surely evoke a sense of déjà vu. Indeed, the new model hardly differs from the previous one - the shape and materials are the same, the dimensions are the same. Of the external differences, we can only note the IR transmitter that appeared on the top end, and the USB Type-C connector at the bottom, replacing the rapidly aging microUSB socket. The main differences between Mi4c and Mi4i lie inside - more powerful filling and an improved camera - about them below.

The monoblock has a non-removable lid, which minimizes the chances of squeaks and backlash. The volume and power buttons are at the right height and are easy to interact with. Three touch-keys under the display are backlit and have rather large touch zones - it's extremely difficult to miss them. A tray with two micro SIM cards is located on the left side (it is a pity that the tray does not imply the use of a microSD memory card instead of a second SIM card - nowadays this is a very popular solution among Chinese manufacturers). On the back, we see a 13MP camera with dual LED flash, microphone, logo and multimedia speaker grill. The speaker produces loud and high-quality sound, although it lacks elaboration low frequencies(Mi4i is not at hand, but if my memory does not fail me, Mi4c is louder).

For Mi4c, as well as for Mi4 and Mi4i, the company chose a quality 5 " Full HD screen with IPS matrix. The absence of an air gap, good contrast, a sufficient margin of brightness, high viewing angles, a comfortable pixel density per inch (441 ppi) - this is all about the Mi4c panel. You can only turn around at the coldish temperature of the display of a particular test sample. It won't take long to turn around, as the settings reveal a section "colors and contrast", where you can choose one of three modes of white balance - warm, standard and cold.

Software

There are many MIUI firmwares for Xiaomi smartphones. Along with the official ones, in which there are only Chinese and English languages (by the way, the official firmware is divided into stable, rarely updated, and developer, updated often), there are unofficial, but localized and with a number of differences in the software set. There are custom assemblies as well. In general, supporters of different firmware have different pros and cons, but in order to minimize the likelihood of glitches and lags as a result of third-party intervention from enthusiastic developers, I flashed my Mi4c to the official stable firmware with English, manually installing Google services. At the time of this writing, the software version is MIUI V7.1.4.0.LXKCNCK.

The phone came from the store with all kinds of Chinese garbage, which is usually installed by sellers along with Google services (don't blame the sellers, blame the Chinese utilities for flashing it). Of course, using a smartphone in this form is not very cool, and there can be viruses - I advise you after receiving Mi4c from any store to independently update it to the selected firmware.

Seventh MIUI version, like previous releases, is a very interesting platform. In terms of its device, it is far from bare Android and at the same time borrows many things from iOS, due to which, in fact, it is popular. Those who follow our Xiaomi device reviews know that we, in general, have not been overly flattering about MIUI. Having the opportunity to use flagships from almost all manufacturers, being able to compare and evaluate software from the outside, we could not help but notice sudden lags, regular brakes, application crashes and MIUI errors. However, in its current form, it is possible to find fault with Mi4c on MIUI v7 only with a strong desire. In terms of stability and elaboration, it is at the level of firmware from other vendors, with its own pros and cons.

preinstalled software on the official Chinese firmware

Because official firmware is intended for Chinese users, then it is full of applications and services for them. In international firmware, something is simply missing (online cinema), something is offered in a truncated form (from music player removed online playback), and something redone (the weather is able to see cities outside the Middle Kingdom). Note that the Edge controls function, which allows you to perform an action "back" and take a picture by double-tapping on the side edge, was made just for show. It doesn't always work, and what's the use of it at all?

I would like to highlight the Mi Remote app, which uses an IR transmitter. With the help of a sensor not found in the Mi4i, you can remotely control your home appliances. So in no time I was able to make a phone with a Sony TV and made fun of my wife a little, switching channels without a remote control and portraying sincere surprise at the enraged telecom. Do you remember how companies began to massively embed IR transmitters into flagships and then together they stopped? In my opinion, a sensor in a smartphone is needed insofar as (manufacturers probably studied the statistics of use and came to the same conclusion), but the fact that it exists is a small, but still a plus in the Mi4c's piggy bank.

The Mi4c does not have a dedicated amplifier and DAC (like the Mi4i, whoever says anything), so the codec integrated into the SoC Snapdragon 808 is responsible for the sound. I listened to music with Denon D600 and Xiaomi Mi Headphones. In general, I was satisfied - Mi4c with Denon D600 plays at the level of OnePlus 2, slightly inferior to Meizu MX5 and LG G4. It is comfortable to listen at a volume of 70-80%, that is, there is even a margin. The bass is a little lacking and I don't like the emphasis on the upper mids, but you can make some adjustments to the seven-band equalizer. Xiaomi headphones Mi by themselves are quite average in sound, and the preset for them in Mi Sound Enhancer does not make them much better. Headphones for inexperienced listeners who value design.

Camera

According to the characteristics of the cameras, Mi4i and Mi4c differ only in the support of phase focusing with the main 13-megapixel Mi4c module. Unchanged resolution, 5-lens optics, f / 2.0 aperture, two-tone dual flash. Phase focusing allows you to target an object in just 0.1 seconds, says Xiaomi. And with sufficient light, the camera is really aimed instantly, but in the room and in the twilight, focusing takes noticeably longer, albeit less than that of Mi4i or Mi4. In the dark, laser autofocus helps to aim well, but Xiaomi has not yet used it in its smartphones. Optical stabilization is available only for the flagship Mi Note line and for Mi4c it would come in handy, but alas and oh - OIS is not, and the electronic stabilizer is not able to fully compensate for shaking hands and provide a confident shot with one hand (in general, there is a feeling that when taking a photo it just doesn't work). In this regard, I advise you to click 2-3 times in order to get a clear shot for sure (although it is still almost impossible to get a blurry shot at night).

There are several modes in the camera application, the most interesting of which is manual. The vertical orientation of the interface looks crooked, the knobs and buttons are not very convenient, but the focus, white balance, ISO and shutter speed settings are there - this is the main thing. I like to shoot close-ups, and with manual focus it is quite easy to do. Evaluate a shot with a droplet - shoot such a vaunted Sony Xperia You will not be able to cost 3 times more for a Z5, since a phone with "the best camera in a flagship smartphone" (as Sony Mobile advertises the Z5, which I personally call a wild buhurt) does not have a full manual mode with focal length adjustment. You can change the exposure by tapping on the screen - press on the focusing area and make your photo brighter or darker in a circular motion clockwise or counterclockwise.

auto and handheld night mode

The shots from Mi4c come out good in good lighting and satisfactory in quality in low light. This is due to the lubrication. For example, out of 9 attempts to remove a Christmas tree toy at home, none were successful, and at home in the distance, on a night composition in all 5 shots, they were out of focus. In general, if you shoot mainly in conditions close to ideal, then there is nothing to worry about, but if you like to take pictures indoors and at dusk, and even without a tripod (a joke for MTs from VK), then you should consider another smartphone.

no effects and with retouching effect

For themselves, a 5-megapixel module with aperture f / 1.8 is provided. Shoots with high quality, just do not forget to turn off the retouching mode - details are lost with it.

The maximum video resolution is limited to Full HD. Tracking autofocus is off by default - and it's for the best. If the option is activated, the focus will constantly scour. Audio is recorded in stereo, but the microphones are tuned to capture ambient sounds rather than the operator's voice, which goes predominantly to the right channel (we saw a similar problem with the Xperia Z3 and Z3 + until it was fixed in the Z5). Electronic stabilization is very sluggish.

It is safe to say that the time when only a few of the largest smartphone manufacturers could guarantee the availability of high quality in their products has already passed. Any person, an ordinary user and an experienced expert, will not find it difficult to draw appropriate conclusions if he carefully familiarizes himself with modern Chinese manufacturers. To confirm this statement with facts, it is best to use as an example a new product that was recently acquired by me in the Russian branch of the well-known trading platform aliexpress.com.

General parameters and equipment

The first minutes of acquaintance with this device are not surprising. It comes in a box familiar from previous models from the same manufacturer. It is made from recycled materials, which is economical and a definite tribute to fashion. On the other hand, its durability and good quality do not give rise to any complaints.

Only basic devices and accessories are included as standard. Here, in addition to the smartphone itself, there is a device for opening the tray, a charger, a connecting cable for working with a computer (MicroUSB - USB), a couple of brochures with instructions. A flat plug must be supplemented with an adapter for connecting to domestic sockets. If the original tool is missing, replace SIM card it will not be difficult with a regular paper clip.

You do not need to be an expert to immediately determine that when creating this device, many solutions were "spied" from Apple. The external resemblance to the iPhone is obvious, but we note right away that this device is not a copy. New tablet of the same brand, too similar to Apple iPhone 5C. However, there will be no accusations of plagiarism, because these are different mobile devices.

Let's return to the main topic of the article. Xiaomi Mi4 is still really original. To make sure of this, let's study its details in more detail.

The frame is made of stainless steel. In this video, you can see the features of the production process.

This material well illustrates that this company takes the quality of its products extremely seriously. This material ensures high strength of the case. It is resistant to various types of external influences, looks solid and retains ideal aesthetic parameters even after several years of intensive use. Note, nevertheless, that in the black model this element is covered with a layer of paint. The integrity of such a layer can be compromised over time.

These photos only show some examples of the possible design of the back cover. Replaceable panels are one of the main features of this model. With their help, it will be possible to truly transform appearance smartphone.

It is also interesting that some of the covers will be made in the form of imitation, of plastic. In the manufacture of others, it is planned to use natural wood species.

However, so far only white and black design options are available. If you look closely, you can see miniature rhombuses on the light lid under a transparent layer.

In these photos, you can see that the SIM card slot is made of metal, very accurately. Its fit to the body is even better than a similar device from Apple. Pollution will not accumulate here.

Control buttons, main speaker grill, USB port- these and other details look solid even when enlarged and very carefully examined. I note right away that some of the functions of the controls can be changed by the user. It is permissible, for example, to turn on the device using the volume key.

The overall impression of good quality is harmoniously complemented by user-friendly dimensions and relatively low weight.

For comparison, I will give a table with the parameters of other smartphones:

Model Height (mm) Width (mm) Thickness (mm) Weight (gr) Screen diagonal (inches)
Xiaomi Mi4 139,2 68,5 8,9 149 5
Xiaomi Mi3 144 73,6 8,1 145 5
Apple iPhone 5S 123,8 58,6 7,6 112 4
Htc one(M8) 146,4 70,6 9,4 160 5
Nokia Lumia 930 137 71 9,8 167 5
Samsung Galaxy S5 142 72,5 8,1 145 5,1
Huawei Ascend P7 139,8 68,8 6,5 124 5

It shows that this device has a relatively small body width. This means that it will be comfortable to work with one hand.

Basic hardware parameters and software

SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8274AC), four Krait 400, 300 cores, 2.5 GHz. The most powerful models of smartphones LG and HTC, Samsung and Oppo, Sony and ZTE are created on this platform. Their productivity is so great that in most cases it even exceeds modern needs. This fact proves that the acquisition of the Xiaomi Mi4 is an excellent investment. This technique will not become obsolete for several years. It will work decently with "heavy" applications without interruptions, artifacts and other distortions.

Operating room Android system 4.4.2, original MIUI firmware. In the first versions of smartphones, the fifth version of MIUI was installed, and now the sixth is being offered. This firmware provides good speed compared to the standard OS. The advanced settings are especially good, which are useful for adjusting the device to the needs and preferences of a particular user.

The only limitation is that the standard programs support displaying the interface only in Chinese and English.

RAM of 3 GB is enough for the most complex programs to be processed quickly, without delays. Internal memory is only offered in two variants, 16 or 64 GB. It cannot be expanded with SD or microSD. The problem can be solved if you use an external flash memory connection using the supported USB OTG technology.

We must also not forget that there is a lot of space, about 4 GB is occupied by a standard software installed serially.

It has already been noted above that the performance this processor very large. To save energy, it can be switched to a special balanced mode.

In this mode, the technique begins to work using lower frequencies (from 300 to 1,500 MHz). This manufacturer has not implemented a special economy mode in its device, which is provided by the creators of the processor. When studying the parameters of specialized tests, you can find out that when using the maximum settings, this technique fully corresponds to the parameters best smartphones top class. Setting the balanced mode degrades performance. However, I would like to emphasize that such settings are quite enough for solving most practical tasks. The hardware has enough power to work office applications and modern games, viewing video materials in 4K format.

Sound and screen, camera, technical features

The touchscreen display is based on IPS technology, which is confirmed by the following micrograph:

Its diameter is 5 ″. A resolution of 1920 × 1080 at this size provides a dots per inch invisible to the human eye, 440 ppi.

The communication of the first models was supported only for the 2G GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz, 3G WCDMA 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz standards. In the fall of 2014, the release of models was announced that can work with 4G and LTE standards.

High-speed and economical Bluetooth 4.0 is useful for connecting a headset, connecting to other smartphones and devices.

This device is equipped with a Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, (2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies). It is capable of using the most modern standard, ac, to transmit at speeds of 220 and 120 Mbit per second (when transmitting and receiving, respectively).

The following nodes are also installed in the Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone: GPS, AGPS, Glonass, gyroscope, compass, accelerometer, pressure and temperature sensors, IR transmitter.

The built-in radio works in the FM band. It possesses high sensitivity and selectivity, receives a signal well in the presence of strong interference, in an urban environment.

The proprietary operating system allows, if necessary, to disable the function of notifying applications about the location of a mobile device.

The main camera is equipped with a sensitive Sony sensor. Pictures can be taken in high resolution, up to 4,208 x 3,120 dots (13 megapixels). Auto focus is useful for quick focusing. In the dark, you can use the LED flash.

The 8MP front camera is quite suitable not only for video calls. Its parameters are sufficient to create high-quality selfies.

Special mention should be made of the presence of a function that automatically detects faces in the image, indicating the gender of the character and his age.

Practical use and battery life, additional features

The capacity of the battery installed in the smartphone, 3,080 mAh is enough for intensive work during the day. This model Supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. This technology is used to charge batteries faster than conventional methods. The power consumed in this case is capable of reaching 60 watts. At the same time, the manufacturer claims that 50% of the battery charge will last less than half an hour.

To increase the battery life, it is useful to use the above-mentioned mode of optimal processor load. Its parameters will be sufficient for the stable operation of most modern programs and applications. We should also not forget about the correct user settings, the possibility automatic change the brightness of the screen depending on the intensity of the ambient light.

Shown in this picture Xiaomi bracelets MiBand are designed to be used with a smartphone of this model. They will help you calculate the number of steps and the distance traveled. The devices built into them will notify the owner about various events, received messages and others. To unlock Xiaomi Mi4, just bring your hand with such a bracelet on your wrist to its screen. Such a device can work without recharging for up to 30 days. It functions reliably over a wide temperature range.

The Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone deserves to be evaluated as a high-quality mobile device that fully meets the modern requirements that apply to the corresponding group of technical products. It has powerful processor and an excellent screen, many other details and characteristics that are associated with top-level devices.

The only thing that can cause some difficulties is the process of purchasing this model. The fact is that while this manufacturer is working to meet the needs of the Chinese market. It is with this that some limited language support is associated. However, this problem is solved quickly, if you choose the right trading company, taking into account its reputation and real capabilities.

To buy newest model smartphone without overpayments, you should not contact domestic resellers. It is convenient and profitable to make the corresponding order using. Here, all the necessary actions can be done independently, without outside help. A sufficiently long delivery time, about a month, will pay off completely. Using this resource, you can purchase the original Xiaomi Mi4 at a reasonable cost, with a reliable guarantee, by choosing a convenient payment method. By the way, a variety of add-ons and accessories for this smartphone model are also offered there at low prices.

The box is large and made of a material resembling fiberboard. The package bundle has not changed either: smartphone, USB cable, power adapter, paper clip for opening the microSIM tray, start instruction and a warranty card. There is no headset, there are no additional accessories either.

The power adapter feels good, the output current is 2 A, the plug is Chinese - an adapter is needed. The sync cable is standard for Xiaomi, there are complaints about the joints of the cable and plugs - kinks may occur.

Appearance and ergonomics

The presentation focused on the design of the device. The official photos of Mi4 immediately inspired millions of enthusiasts around the world. Compared to its predecessor, Mi4 has definitely become more elegant, retaining the display diagonal, it has become 5 mm shorter and 5 mm narrower, the thickness has increased slightly. The body is framed by a frame made of high-quality steel, which feels like it is the same as in the iPhone 4 / 4S - chips on such a frame are unlikely to appear, but it will still be scratched.

The smartphone is based on a magnesium alloy frame. The back cover is made of polycarbonate, it is very thin (0.8 mm), but durable. In addition, it is removable, and it is implied that it can be replaced later. The entire front surface is occupied by glass of unknown origin. Located under the glass: screen, speaker, sensors, front-camera, touch buttons. Exactly under the touch button “home” is the LED event indicator.

Device dimensions: 139 * 68.5 * 8.9 mm, weight is only 149 grams. For a device with a 5-inch display, the Xiaomi Mi4 came out compact and lightweight. Due to the sloping shape of the back cover, the smartphone fits comfortably in the hand. The device fits into the pocket of men's trousers without any problems, it is almost convenient to carry it there.

The mechanical power and volume buttons are perfectly positioned, they have a clear click and are pleasant to the touch. Buttons “menu”, “home” and “back” are touch sensitive. No additional elements there is no control in the smartphone. On the upper end of the device there is an IR-interface window and a headset jack, on the bottom there is a six-pin microUSB connector and perforation of an external speaker. At the top of the left side there is a microSIM tray, which, by the way, is also made of steel.

On the back are the camera peephole, LED flash and the Mi logo. The camera peephole in Mi4 was placed in the center, on one side, this decision forced - the module itself is large and there would be problems with placing it in the corner, on the other hand, it's even better - the likelihood of covering the peephole with your finger during shooting has decreased.

Screen

The Xiaomi Mi4 has a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 * 1080 pixels (PPI = 441) from Sharp or Japan Display. The manufacturer declares that color gamut the screen is 84% of the NTSC color gamut, and this is 17% more than the iPhone 5S. Subjectively, in comparison with the screen in Xiaomi Mi3, the screen of the new item really looks much better. The capacitive touch screen detects up to 10 touches at the same time, the sensor and touch buttons respond to wet hands and can be operated with gloves.

The screen has a good reserve of brightness, it behaves well in the sun - the picture fades, but remains readable. There is an automatic backlight adjustment, it works more adequately than in it, I remind you, there are problems with this.

Hardware platform and performance

The Xiaomi Mi4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC platform, which includes a quad-core ARM processor clocked at up to 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU with OpenGL ES 3.0 support clocked at up to 578 MHz.

RAM 3 GB (Samsung DDR3 933 MHz), permanent memory can be 16 or 64 GB (eMMC 5.0). A 16-gigabyte version participates in the review, 12.3 GB is available to the user in it. There is no microSD card slot. The following sensors are built into the smartphone:

The hardware in Mi4 is the highest possible today. Needless to say, the productivity will be enough for solving any problems. In AnTuTu X, the smartphone scored an incredible 45,053 points !. In the process of work, I did not notice even the slightest slowdowns in the interface. All modern games start and run at maximum settings.

Cellular and interfaces

Xiaomi plans to produce at least two versions of the device with 3G for CDMA and WCDMA networks, the latter will work in Russian 3G networks; and a 4G version of the device with TDD-LTE support, which, unfortunately, will not work on Russian LTE networks. It is expected that a version with the FDD-LTE standard supported in Russia will appear a little later this year.

The review involves the WCDMA version of the device, one SIM card slot. Wireless modules include: Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac, operating at 2.5 and 5 GHz. There is support for GPS / aGPS, GLONASS and Chinese Beidou. There is an infrared port through which you can control home appliances. The NFC module is surprisingly missing.

USB interface complies with 2.0 standard, OTG is supported. Practical USB cable transfer speed is about 27MB / s, so 1.5GB DVD-rip will be copied to internal memory, in about 50 seconds.

Battery and autonomy

The battery capacity is 3080 mAh (model BM32). The smartphone supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology, and it is assumed that from zero to 75% charging will take place in 40 minutes, and up to 100% in 100 minutes. In fact, the numbers turned out to be as follows: up to 75% of the smartphone was charged in 1 hour and 10 minutes, a full charge took 2 hours.

If the High Performance profile is activated, then with an average load the device can work for about a day in standby mode, where the screen is active for 5 hours. When the balanced profile is activated, a little more. In any case, at this stage, these numbers do not seem attractive, perhaps we will be optimized for power consumption in future firmware updates.

Cameras, photo and video quality

The main camera is a 13-megapixel sensor Sony Exmor RS (IMX214) size 1 / 3.06, covered with a lens consisting of six lenses with an equivalent focal length of 28 mm and an aperture of f / 1.8. HDR and 4K video recording are supported on hardware. The maximum possible ISO is 3200 units, the minimum possible shutter speed is 1/1000 s. Parameters such as ISO, shutter speed, metering method, focus are manually adjusted. White balance can be set by choosing from the preset options or explicitly set the temperature in Kelvin. There is no option to save images in RAW format.

With the Xiaomi Mi4 camera, you can get good quality photos, the pictures come out sharp with good color reproduction and accurate white balance. Compared to the Xiaomi Mi3, this is a big step forward. CLICKABLE! Left Xiaomi Mi4, right Apple iPhone 5S:

The HDR mode in Mi4, like in most android smartphones, is classic - the shadows are drawn strongly, but, unfortunately, the color rendition suffers. CLICKABLE! Left Xiaomi Mi4, right Apple iPhone 5S:

In conditions poor lighting the Mi4 camera has an advantage over others due to its larger aperture, compared to the same iPhone 5s it is 2/3 stop (the lens transmits almost 2 times more light). This results in quieter images and more detail. CLICKABLE! Left Xiaomi Mi4, right Apple iPhone 5S:

The macro mode does not stand out in anything special. Switching the focus mode to “macro” has no advantage. The minimum distance to the object is 70 mm. CLICKABLE! Left Xiaomi Mi4, right Apple iPhone 5S:

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi team never got around to taking panoramic shots. As in all previous models, the camera in Mi4 is not able to shoot panoramas. The shooting process is painful, the photo is processed and saved for a long time, the result is terrible. The resolution of panoramic shots is 3 megapixels, while the iPhone 5S takes a photo at 25.8 megapixels. CLICKABLE! Top Xiaomi Mi4, bottom Apple iPhone 5S:

The 8 MP front camera is made on the basis of a Sony Exmor R (IMX219) sensor and a 5-element lens with an equivalent focal length of ~ 26 mm and an aperture of F / 1.8, there is autofocus. Video is recorded with a maximum resolution of 1280 * 720 pixels @ 30 fps and a bit rate of 8.3 Mbps (stereo sound 48KHz / 96Kbps).

There is a definition of faces, while the smartphone not only finds a face, but also tries to determine the age and gender of a person in the frame, in my case he guessed right.

Despite the impressive resolution, the images from the front camera lack sharpness, and the result is mirrored. CLICKABLE:

The smartphone writes video with a maximum resolution of 3840 * 2160 pixels @ 30 fps and a bit rate of 40 Mbps in standard mode and HDR mode;

and 1920 * 1080 points @ 30 fps and 15.2 Mbps bit rate for FullHD in standard mode and HDR mode.

In all cases, the sound is recorded in stereo with a sampling rate of 48 kHz and a bit rate of 96 kbps. In standard mode, the image seems overshadowed, in HDR mode, the result seems better. The picture does not shine with quality, but it is still better than that of Xiaomi Mi3, progress is felt. An inexperienced user may even like the way Mi4 shoots video.

Sound quality

Xiaomi Mi4 has a sound chip from Qualcomm and an AVAGO ACPM-7600 amplifier, by the way, the same amplifier works in Samsung Galaxy Note 3. There is only one external speaker in the smartphone and it is located at the bottom end, as for me this is the most successful location of all possible - the sound is not muffled either on the table or in the pocket of your trousers. The external speaker has a sufficient volume reserve and good sounding, only a little lack of treble. The sound quality from the external speaker of the Mi4 is clearly superior to that of the Xiaomi Mi3.

The sound in the headphones is also pleasing. When compared head-on with the sound quality of the iPhone 5S, the Chinese phone is slightly lacking in volume headroom, in all other respects it is on par. The system has a built-in “enhancer” for Mi Sound, it can be activated only when a headset is connected, there is an equalizer. Feels like the work of Mi Sound comes down to amplifying the bass.

The device has an FM radio, which can be activated without a headset connected, although in this case it will be difficult to catch something even on the street.

Operating system features

The smartphone is running operating system MIUI v5 based on Android 4.4. The community hoped that Xiaomi Mi4 would be released immediately on MIUI v6, but this did not happen.

You can already familiarize yourself with. The firmware Xiaomi Mi4 has a completely new application XMRemoteController - a universal remote control for home appliances. Unfortunately, the interface of the application is not translated into English, and the setting of the application for LG TV had to be done "by a scientific poke". The application asked to select the type of device and manufacturer. After that, it was suggested to increase the volume on the TV by pressing the button in the center, and below a question appeared in Chinese "did the function work?" and two buttons “yes” and “no”.

If you choose not, then the same volume up button appears, but with a different configuration. In my case, it worked on the second try. Next came the check of the channel switch button, it worked on the first try. After all these manipulations, the smartphone created a control profile for my TV. This function works properly, but so far it's damp, for example, I could not get into the main menu of the TV through XMRemoteController.

The announcement of MIUI v6 is scheduled for August 16, and some time after the release it will appear on our website!

For several days of using the device, I did not notice any problems. I'm sorry that at the time of writing the review I could not try MIUI v6, I was confused by the relatively weak autonomy of the device. Some questions Xiaomi drags from device to device without solving them, for example, regarding panoramic shots. But at the same time, a huge amount of work has been done, for the first time in a long time chinese smartphone made me say “wow!”. The first thing that caught my eye was the amazing build quality: all the parts fit perfectly to each other, there are no squeaks when squeezed, and it is not at all possible to twist the device. In addition, the frame is made of stainless steel around the perimeter of the device - it feels like they cannot be compared with their aluminum counterparts, there is a strong association with the iPhone 4 / 4S. But after turning on the display, I forgot about the case! The screen is really good, if not the best, then certainly one of the best FullHD displays on the market. The speed and smoothness of the interface are almost perfect, although already in Xiaomi Mi3 everything was fine with this.

To date, Xiaomi Mi4 has not yet appeared on the Russian market, there is a pre-order in one online store at a price of 18,200 rubles for the 16GB version. Obviously, this price is speculative and in 3-5 weeks it will be adjusted to 14-15 thousand rubles. In any case, a buyer who wants to get a device with LTE should wait until autumn, and then think about buying Xiaomi Mi4 or the same one. The latter outperforms Mi4 in autonomy and larger diagonal display, but loses in ease of use, case quality and native MIUI firmware. Again, the Meizu MX4 should come out in the fall, but for now it is a dark horse and it is too early to say something about this device. After six months, when the price of the Xiaomi Mi4 drops to 12,000 rubles for the 16GB version, it will become perhaps the most attractive device in its category.

Chinese smartphone manufacturers are developing at a frantic pace and are actively gaining market share from A-brands, primarily due to humane prices. In this issue, it is already worth dividing the Chinese manufacturers among themselves: there is a huge number of brands less well-known in our country a la iOcean, THL, there are those working on OEM and ODM conditions (their models can be seen both under local Chinese and Ukrainian and Russian names). For example Yulong (Coolpad brand) or K-Touch. A separate class is companies that have already proven themselves in the global market, such as Huawei, Lenovo, Meizu and Xiaomi. The latter, according to recent data, now ranks third in the world in the supply of smartphones. This information was released a few days before the final takeover of Motorola by Lenovo, so technically the situation could have changed in the direction of Lenovo, but this is not so important. It is impressive that since its inception in 2010, the company has evolved from the creator of the MIUI shell for Android into such a major smartphone manufacturer. And today we have a review flagship smartphone Xiaomi is the Mi4 model.

What is it?

Xiaomi Mi4 is the company's top smartphone. During the July announcement, Xiaomi proudly dubbed it “the most powerful smartphone»(Of course, from those available for sale). Compared to the previous flagship Mi3 (which still looks good from the point of view of characteristics), the design has changed significantly and the power has grown.

Why is it interesting?

The smartphone is interesting as one of the most powerful this moment Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (8974AC) 2.5GHz (four Krait 400 cores) with graphics Adreno 330 with a frequency of 578 MHz, which in total with 3 GB random access memory should provide high performance. In addition to the internal goodies, there is a high-quality 5-inch Japanese-origin (Sharp or JDI) FullHD IPS screen with protective glass Gorilla Glass 3 and enhanced sensitivity. Camera module - Sony Exmor RS IMX214 with a resolution of 13 megapixels and the ability to record video in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.

What's in the box?

The smartphone comes in such a box made of yellowish cardboard, inside which there is the smartphone itself, a USB cable, a charger, an adapter for European sockets, a clip for removing a SIM card and all sorts of guarantee instructions.

What does it look like?

The design of the smartphone cannot be called original, it resembles a large number of other models, many compare it with the 5th generation iPhone. The main similarity is the use of a metal frame, on renders smartphones are really similar. With a live acquaintance, the impression has changed for the better, the smartphone does not look like a copy of anything. The Mi4 does have very thin bezels on the sides of the screen, making it one of the narrowest smartphones with a screen of this size. The frame is made of quality beveled metal. The smartphone cannot boast of a record slim body: thickness is 8.9mm. I do not see anything wrong with this, on the contrary: the thickness and width of the gadget contribute to comfortable use, including with one hand, which is important.

On the front panel above the screen, there is a front camera, a set of sensors, an earpiece and the Mi logo. Under the screen there are three standard touch buttons, just below there is a small LED indicator for notifications. Unfortunately, we failed to photograph it: it blinks with short signals, the color can be adjusted:

At the top there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an IR transmitter for control household appliances:

On the left side there is a tray for a MicroSIM card. It fits perfectly in size, does not stick out or skew, as sometimes happens:

At the bottom there is MicroUSB and a single speaker mesh. It is placed the same as in my LG G2, but it sounds much louder and better quality:

On the right is the volume rocker, below - power button. as with the microSIM tray, the buttons fit perfectly. They do not stagger, they are well groped and pressed:

The back panel is made of thick plastic, it does not bend or creak. It has a glossy transparent layer, under which there is a small, diamond-shaped pattern. He collects prints, but thanks to the small drawing and white color, they are practically invisible. At the top is a camera with flash and a small microphone hole, at the bottom - logo. Xiaomi has decided to adopt the Moto X chip and plans to release replaceable back covers of different colors and textures. Accordingly, the back cover is removable. Despite this, the existing lid sits perfectly in place, as in non-collapsible devices.:

Main camera with single LED flash:

Together with Xiaomi MiPad:

The smartphone is perfectly assembled and fits comfortably in the hand, which is facilitated by its good dimensions and a nice metal frame.

How is he with the screen?

As mentioned above, there is a 5-inch IPS-screen with FullHD resolution produced by Sharp or JDI with Gorilla Glass 3 protective glass. The screen has no air gap, it uses LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon), which ( in theory) provides higher brightness and lower power consumption. The screen is highly sensitive and can be operated with gloves. This will be very helpful in view of the approaching winter. Visually, the display is really of very high quality, the colors are rich, and the viewing angles are maximum. Due to the absence of an air gap and a good margin of brightness, the screen remains well readable in the sun.

The picture remains visible from any angle, and the colors are not distorted. Supports multi-touch up to 10 touches

The colorimeter showed that the screen is really quite good: the maximum brightness is 423.5 cd / m2, black field brightness 0.64 cd / m2 and contrast ratio 662: 1. In the table below, you can compare the performance with some of the competitors. As for the color rendition, then, as usual, there is a bias in cold colors, the predominance of blue shades.

The smartphone provides a setting for color rendering modes:

After choosing the "warm" preset, the color rendition improved, the prevalence of blue and the error ΔE decreased:

Device nameBrightness of the white field,
cd / m2
The brightness of the black field,
cd / m2
Contrast
Xiaomi Mi4 423.5 0.64 662:1
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 345.91 0
LG G3 355 0.61 582:1
HTC One (M8) 459.44 0.22 2088:1
Sony Xperia Z2 312.92 0.5 626:1

How is the smartphone doing with performance and autonomy?

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 platform with 3 GB of RAM demonstrates really high performance, which is enough for all modern applications, games and smooth operation of the interface. Like all modern flagships (and not only), the smartphone heats up under heavy loads. Asphalt 8 with advanced (by mobile standards) graphics launches with maximum settings graphics, does not slow down and you can contemplate all available graphic effects:

The smartphone is available in two versions: with 16 and 64 GB of internal memory with eMMC5.0 interface, which ensures high speed of the internal storage. We have a 16 GB model on review, just over 12 GB is available. Unfortunately, there is no microSD slot. If you do not play games and listen to music from an "Orthodox" separate player, then the 16 GB version is quite enough, otherwise 64 GB will be a more reasonable purchase

The GPS module works well: with a cold start, it took the smartphone 40 seconds to use the information from 6 satellites and increase the positioning accuracy to 13 m:

The smartphone has a 3080 mAh lithium polymer battery. With Wi-Fi always on or mobile internet, synchronization of all existing accounts, about 25 minutes of calls and an hour of reading per day, the smartphone lives quietly for two days (by the evening of the second day, about 25% of the charge remains). The indicator is not bad, but far from being a record one. In the AnTuTu tester, we got some strangely high results, perhaps the software did not work quite correctly (the last screenshot in the gallery with the benchmark results is below). The smartphone supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology, thanks to which it should charge up to 75% in 40 minutes. In practice, there was no desire to pinpoint the exact time. In the first hour, most of the battery is charged, then the process slows down. A full charge takes about 2 hours.

For those who want to know more

The smartphone provides the ability to select a performance mode, there are "productive" and "balanced". You can choose in the settings or when starting the benchmarks:

The aforementioned Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (8974AC) quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, Adreno 330 graphics, and 3GB of RAM really do the trick. In AnTuTu, the smartphone scores 44382 points and overtakes the HTC One (M8), Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2. Benchmark results:

How user-friendly is the interface?

Xiaomi Mi4 runs on Android 4.4 OS with MIUI shell. Together with the smartphone, the 6th version was announced, it is still in beta stage, but it is already working very well. There is a stable 5th version. The MIUI 6 shell provides for the unloading of all applications to the desktops (there are no restrictions on their number). The interface has a flat, minimalistic and beautiful design with an abundance of smooth and beautiful animations.

After turning on and initial setup (language, Wi-Fi and gmail), the smartphone solemnly announced to me that it was pumping out the new firmware over the air and would now be updated. I did not interfere, but after updating and rebooting, I discovered the absence of the Russian language and Google services. In this regard, the creators turned out to be very humane: in 10 minutes, the latest available version of MIUI 6 with the Russian language was found, downloaded and installed in a couple of clicks:

This is what the top curtain looks like. A horizontal swipe moves between notifications and switches:

Notifications come in an abbreviated form. To open, a gesture similar to the standard zoom gesture in the gallery is used in full:

The search is invoked by swiping up the screen:

The application manager is called with the left button under the screen. Here you can close all applications, it is possible to pin the desired applications. This is done by moving the icon down. Repeated action releases the pinning:

Long list of settings:

Standard file explorer with the ability to sort by file type and access to the file system:

Here is such a nice and beautiful standard weather app:

The sound in the headphones is surprisingly decent, better than many competitors. The player has all the standard features, including an equalizer. There is an interesting option to customize the headset. In fact, you can use absolutely any headset, and in the settings you can assign button actions, including long presses:

Miscellaneous utilities:

Despite the Beta status, the shell works smoothly, there are some glitches and flaws in the localization. It is worth waiting for the final version.

How are things with the camera?

The main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, the Sony Exmor RS IMX214 module is used, the optics has 6 lenses, the aperture is f / 1.8, there is an LED flash. Supports HDR, 4K video and 120fps slow motion HD. Front - also Sony but at 8 megapixels with a similar aperture. The interface is user-friendly and straightforward. Mode selection menu:

The main camera really pleased high quality pictures even in cloudy weather. Autofocus works quickly, and the color rendition seems to be quite close to reality. Below are examples of photos and videos:

Standard Mode:

Live HDR mode:

In the dry residue

Xiaomi turned out to be really solid, quality smartphone with almost top-end characteristics and corresponding high performance, which is enough for any application, as well as for heavy games. The smartphone is perfectly assembled and easy to use, the MIUI shell is interesting, smooth and flexible in customization. MIUI 6 is still really damp, but there are stable versions of MIUI 5 firmware, and the flashing process is simplified as much as possible. In addition to this, the smartphone has a very solid camera that can do a lot. Now about the unpleasant moments: if the lack of NFC and dust and moisture protection are not critical, then the lack of a microSD slot (which is present in most modern flagships) is a more serious problem. It can be solved by the 64 GB version, but the difference in cost is much higher than the cost of a MicroSD card. Price: The 16 GB version is now sold for 6600 UAH, while the 64 GB version is asking for 8000 UAH (this is when the price for a 64 GB microSD memory card is in the region of 500-600 UAH). The price of the smartphone is indeed lower than that of more eminent competitors with similar characteristics, but the difference is no longer that big. If the brand itself does not bother, then buying a 16 GB version seems to be quite justified, 64 GB is worth waiting for a decrease in cost.

5 reasons to buy Xiaomi Mi4:

  • High performance;
  • good screen;
  • good quality cameras;
  • shell MIUI;
  • convenient design and excellent assembly.

2 reasons not to buy Xiaomi Mi4:

  • lack of a microSD slot;
  • damp firmware.

Xiaomi has long entered the global market for gadgets and smartphones, and at this stage it can confidently compete with eminent brands. In this review, I propose to learn in more detail about the flagship model XIAOMI Mi4C, which in anttu is confidently kept in 15-ke, has some innovative functions and remember the saying about "everything new is well forgotten old."

In addition, I will say thank you store Gearbest, who, although they tried to "move out", but in the end acted honestly and fairly.

First, I'll write about why thanks to Gearbest. At the end of October, the gallant Chinese mixed up the price and entered $ 127 instead of $ 227. Well, it's a sin not to try to grab this device for this amount.

It was a pre-order, a couple of weeks were left until the date of sending the batch, and when at the end of the pre-sale the order is canceled. Then the painful correspondence began, the search for the culprits, communication with managers and other hassle - well, it is not my fault that the Chinese was so dull, but I managed to buy. And in the end, after almost a month of butting with tech support and a manager, I won.

✔ PACKAGING AND COMPLETE SET OF XIAOMI Mi4C

Regular delivery, which, thanks to jd sales, took almost 50 days.

Thank you for the adapter, regarding Xiaomi products, it is always in the subject. The box is poisonous orange with a small logo. (Oukitel perfectly licked the color for himself).

Depending on the version, 2/3 GB has its own sticker with the characteristics of the smartphone.

General kit.

Instructions, like all Xiaomi products, are purely in Chinese.

A paper clip for the tray, a regular paper clip is great in thickness.

The cable is of good quality, except for one thing, but the connector is still not very familiar USB Type-C, so I recommend buying adapters or spare cables for recharging your smartphone at work or from friends.

Charging, as expected with a Chinese plug, the adapter comes in handy here. Options charger 5V - 2A, 9V - 1.2A, 12V -1A. Support for Quick charge version 2.0 technology.

It pulls a load of 2A at 5V without a drawdown, and in general, the smartphone is charged with a "native" charge much faster than even a "native" 2 ampere One +.

The smartphone itself is covered with a shipping film in front and even on the back cover there is a film with serial numbers, holograms and a warning in Chinese.
We decided not to bother with design and materials, focusing more on hardware and software. The cover is plastic, which is put on a smartphone like a bumper, it is available in a choice of 7 different design colors from strict to bright.

The frames are present, but they were not masked as on 2.5D displays. A small company logo is applied to the front. Before that, I did not pay attention to this, but after all, the main brands, such as Samsung, Sony and other LG, place the logo on both the front and the back of the smartphone, while Chinese manufacturers mostly only on the back, as if afraid to show that the smartphone is not a famous brand.

The protective film is neither included nor from the factory, but I recommend buying glass instead - the difference is day and night, not in favor of the film.
At the top of the smartphone, there are light and proximity sensors, an earpiece, a front camera and an LED indicator.

The indicator can be configured for any event, but, unfortunately, you cannot set your own color, only choose from the existing ones.

At the bottom of the smartphone, the manufacturer left a place for backlit touch buttons, I don't really like on-screen buttons, even on 5-inch displays.

At the bottom there is a thick USB Type-C connector and a spoken microphone.

In the upper part there is a 3.5 jack for headphones and one of the "buns" that I mentioned at the beginning of the review, namely an IR transmitter for controlling household appliances. Everything new is good forgotten old;)

Nice plastic and metal logo at the bottom.

They decided to place the speaker at the bottom, not at the bottom. But even here it was not without small chips, namely a small border, thanks to which the speaker of the smartphone does not close when you put it on the table. If placed on a soft surface, the sound is muffled! Loudness and sound quality on high level, I did not notice wheezing, the call is heard well.

Near the main 13 megapixel Sony cameras IMX25 is a very bright bi-color LED lights and a noise canceling microphone.

On the right side of the smartphone, there are plastic volume and shutdown keys. They protrude a little unusually above the body, but there are no false positives, and they do not cause discomfort.

The body is monolithic, nothing loosens if you knock a little in the area rear camera, then there is a slight, barely audible rattling.
“The lenses in the camera are in an electromagnetic field, i.e. there are coils on two lens units, when focusing, an electric potential is applied to the coils, and thus the lenses are set in motion and focus, the moment of focusing by contrast focus is monitored by the controller, when the camera is turned off, there is no potential and they hang freely on the suspension, therefore when shaking we hear this is a "rattling", it is necessary to turn on the camera and this "bounce" will not be heard. This method has recently been used not only in smartphone cameras, but also on “large” cameras, common among Sony, Sigma ... The system is reliable and compact. " W3bsit3-dns.com

On the left side there is a tray for two Micro SIMs.

Tray in a plastic case, with a metal backing.

Unfortunately, this device is not designed to work with Micro SIM + micro SD.

Smartphone dimensions - width: 70 mm, thickness 7.9 mm and length 138 mm.

The weight is 130 grams.

✔SCREEN XIAOMI Mi4C

Xiaomi does not skimp on the quality of its displays, and this unit is no exception. The screen is neither a shovel nor small things - 5 inches are made using IPS technology without an air gap. Renowned brands such as Sharp, LG or AUO are used as suppliers. You can find out which type exactly your device has using engineering menu and the Dmesg command, where the Panel Name will indicate the manufacturer.

The screen is very juicy and bright, and with FullHD resolution of 1920 by 1080 and 441 PPI, there is practically no visible pixelation. The viewing angle is 178 °.

Supports 10 simultaneous touches.

The screen has an oleophobic coating, the fingers slide quite well, while leaving traces, they can be easily removed by simply rubbing them on the cloth once. It fits perfectly in the hand, there is no fear, when working with one hand, that the smartphone will fall out, as I have with 5.5 inches.

You won't be able to call it thin, but it fits comfortably in the hand thanks to the beveled corners on the lid.

The mute has to get used to blindly hitting the volume rocker without clinging to the off button, but you get used to it.

✔ SOFTWARE FROM BOX IN XIAOMI Mi4C

You can use the installed MIUI out of the box, but I HIGHLY recommend flashing the phone right away, especially since this is done in a couple of clicks.
I will not dwell entirely on MIUI7, but in general, as it seemed to me, it is much faster than the 6th version.

From the lock screen, you can turn on the camera or flashlight without entering a password, applications can be grouped into folders.

You don't have to reach the top of the smart to open the shutter, just swipe down the screen. Required applications in the application manager can be pinned. Unfortunately, the translation is not complete, which prompted me to reflash.

Initially, a strange version 87,0,4 based on Android 5.1.1 is installed out of the box.

There are quite a few settings and some of the applications, such as camera settings, are moved to general settings.

There is no Russian search for T9 in the caller yet, there is also an insufficient translation, it is being treated by a flashing. One of the nice features is the ability to set up automatic call recording "out of the box" and install a small video instead of the usual photo of the subscriber.

A little more about the chips, sensors are located on the edges of the smartphone. It is possible to activate them from the setup menu and then double tapping on the left side of the smartphone is equivalent to pressing the "back" button, and in the camera mode it takes a photo, the first touch is focusing, the second is a photo. A convenient feature when working with one hand, you do not have to reach for the touch buttons when working in a browser.

There is a child mode setting, where you set which applications your child can access. Lock setup just like regular Android. It is possible to enable reading mode, adjust the color temperature and enable wake-up on double tap. By the way, it was noticed that when you enable this option autonomous work is shrinking.

For those who are 5 inches, there is still a lot of the ability to switch the display to 4 or 3.5 inches. After activation, it is enough to slide your finger over the touch button from the center to the side to activate and in the opposite direction to disable this mode.

Control of pop-up notifications and tiles in the curtain. The connection speed shows "out of the box" when you activate the desired item in the menu.

It is possible to customize the headset keys and touch buttons to suit your needs.

12.14 Gb of internal memory and about 800 MB of RAM are available for the user.

✔ COMMUNICATION IN XIAOMI Mi4C

As it should be modern smartphone Mi4 has almost the entire range of models wireless communication... That's just as there was no NFC in the previous models, it did not appear, I do not know what is the reason for Xiaomi's refusal from this technology, but it is a fact.
WiFi module dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz - Wi-Fi ac / a / b / g / n
Measurements of the speed of 2.4 GHz in a room with a router and through 2 concrete walls.

Penetration is at a high level, the position of the arrow in the green zone has practically not changed.

Speedtest at 5 GHz, as you can see, the speed drop through 2 walls is already stronger.

The smartphone has a Bluetooth 4.1 module.

As for GPS, then above all praise, and GPS and GLONASS and Chinese Beidou, a very quick cold start. Well, there is nothing to say about accuracy, everything is fine.

Instead of NFC, the manufacturer remembered the old Nokia smartphone and software for switching TV channels. But in this smartphone everything is much simpler, we select the type of device, we select the popular model in the list of popular Chinese brands or go to the detailed list, where there is just a huge list of equipment manufacturers.

After choosing the manufacturer, we test the buttons, and if everything is ok, give the name to the new remote control and indicate the location of the equipment. Further, everything is as in the usual remote control, the range is not worse, I tried it from 5 meters, it works perfectly.

As for the sounds from the headphones, here I also put 5 points, the native Pistons sound much better than in my Ona +, I liked the sound even without third-party enhancers.

✔ FIRMWARE XIAOMI Mi4C

As for the bottom line before the firmware, yes, updates arrived, but the curve translation, Chinese extra software and mediocre values in Antutu are three factors for flashing.

All you need to do for flashing:
1- download from mi website
2 - Install it and connect your smartphone. By the way, the application itself is very convenient for everyday use.

3- download the TWR archive and unpack it into a folder -
4- download the firmware - choose yourself, but I V7.1.4.0.LXKCNCK, upload it to your smartphone
5- put the smartphone into fastboot mode - turn off the smart and turn on the volume "-" while holding down the key. Or run 1.bat with a connected smart, if the option failed
6- connect your smartphone to your computer and run 2.bat
7- after installing custom recovery from the recovery menu, select the file with the firmware, and install with cleaning
8 - rejoice

After flashing, the same MIUI 7, but without unnecessary software, with almost complete localization and faster working.

✔ TESTS XIAOMI Mi4C

These are the Antutu data obtained after installation new firmware- 64740 parrot.

Information about the smartphone by means of CPU-Z.

Info from AIDA64.

And a little more ironclad information.

There are all possible sensors, except for temperature, which is strange, since these sensors are in the system.

I have no complaints about the sensors.

GeekBench returned 1021 in one core and 2589 in all.

IceStorm returned 359 parrots and Quadrant 14175.

Vellamo either overtakes the Meizu MX4 and sits on the tail of OnePlus, then lags behind in the browser by several points.

Comparison and benchmark from GFX.

In Antutu 3D 6929 parrots, and in Nenamark 60.1 fps.

Although the Tsiatdel warmed up the processor, the super quality values are very high - 49.3 fps.

✔ BATTERY IN XIAOMI Mi4C

The smartphone has a built-in battery with a capacity of 3080 mAh
It will not work to call this device super-surviving, in anttu it dials 6066 while landing the smartphone up to 20% at maximum brightness in 4 hours.

There are many settings that can reduce power consumption, such as turning off wireless modules at night and showing the most gluttonous processes.

In general, there is enough work for a full day, even taking into account games. But if you play a game that is demanding on smartphone resources, then prepare the charge in about two and a half hours.

In browser mode, mordbook, audio player, calls - if the screen has been running for about 5 hours, 10% of the charge will still remain.

✔ XIAOMI Mi4C GAMES

There were no problems with the games. But there is heating, you don’t burn your fingers, but it is still there (in the region of 45-50 degrees).

The second point is that throttling appears at high temperatures, and performance drops, this is confirmed by Antutu's tests, which he carried out on a cold one and after 20-30 minutes of play.

There are no problems with this, games can hang in memory if the smart is not overloaded with unnecessary resource-intensive applications.

But the tanks, although they go quite confidently, on the middle chart, on the maximum there are friezes, or is it a flaw in the game or trotting is to blame.

✔ XIAOMI Mi4C SMARPHONE CAMERA

The main camera with the Sony IMX258 module has a resolution of 13 megapixels. Information about the photo and video.

The camera is pretty nimble, fast launch and focusing. Judge for yourself the quality of the pictures, but they are of pretty good quality.

Practically without focusing, it does not blur the photo.

In a dark elevator, the flash works very well.

Just a bright banner.

Yeshi.

In low light conditions, it is better to use HDR mode.

Manual focus.

Poor lighting.

The video shoots in FullHD format, and can also shoot 120fps slow-motion video in 720P mode.

✔ TOTAL FOR XIAOMI Mi4C

I tried to tell as much as possible about this smartphone, indicating both strong and weak sides, I will summarize below.
The pluses will include:
- excellent performance
- high-quality FullHD display with a normal oleophobic coating
- the camera takes really good pictures
- availability of IR and a large number of sensors
- additional features + notification LED
- MIUI in this case is also a plus
- in this case, a monolithic body, I will also refer to the pluses
- fast charging
- easy flashing
- I will take the battery as a plus, just because it is higher than 3000mAh

The cons:
- no possibility of expanding memory due to microSD
- low threshold for trotting activation
- raw preinstalled firmware
- lack of NFC
- high power consumption when playing games
