Since time immemorial, MTS has had an MTS-Bonus program. This is how she worked. Every time you top up your account or hold it more money, than you need to pay for the tariff, you were awarded a few points.

These points accumulated slowly but surely. You could spend them on several things:

  • communication, internet and roaming services
  • bonuses in online services like Litres
  • payment cards in MTS and electronics stores
  • discounts on train tickets
  • various goodies, like jewelry pendants in Sunlight
  • Of all such “loyalty programs”, MTS has had five over the past years the most interesting opportunities spending bonuses. I visited their menu several times and managed to save not only on communications (for example, I made myself free traffic), but also tangible things. I customized the same pendants for a friend.

    But over the past year and a half, MTS-Bonus has been quietly becoming poor, losing the most interesting points for “cash-out” bonuses. Now it became clear why.

    The MTS Bonus program is closed today, all bonuses are canceled

    Yesterday was the last day of the MTS-Bonus program. Information about this is in the corresponding section of the application.

    All bonuses that were not spent before midnight are completely burned today.

    MTS did not offer any normal replacement for this program. Almost.

    Instead of MTS-Bonus they now offer to use the service MTS Cashback. But it works completely differently. Instead of just paying a tariff, you need to spend money on purchases and services offered by the service.

    Considering how many similar services already exist on the Internet, I personally don’t see any point in using MTS Cashback. And the offers are there absolutely nothing.

    It's sad, but happy at the same time. Now it will be a little easier for me personally to leave MTS.

    I am writing here not in the hope that something will change - our operators are impenetrable, if they have made a decision, they will not change anything. Just an example of how we are slowly being deprived of good things for the sake of profit.

    One of the leading Russian operators cellular communications MTS has long launched a bonus program for its clients. Each time its participants topped up their account, they received a certain number of points that could be used to purchase additional services.

    But the program turned out to be unattractive to customers over time, so it was closed on May 15, 2019, and customers were invited to join a new loyalty club called “MTS Cashback”. Therefore, in this review we will talk in detail about personal account new program and about its advantages.

    Previously, in your MTS Bonus account you could track the balance of accumulated points and spend them on purchases:

    • additional minutes of conversation or Internet traffic;
    • SMS or MMS;
    • ringtones, games or videos;

    To register, you need to go to the special website of the project and go to the “About the program” section in the top menu, and then click on the “Register” button just below.

    A login form for your personal account will open, where you need to indicate a valid number mobile phone. It doesn't matter which operator it refers to. Below, select “Receive password via SMS”.

    Repeat the captcha code in the lower field and proceed to the next step by clicking on the “Next” button.

    An SMS message with a short code will be sent to the specified phone number, which must be duplicated in an empty line.

    In the next step you need to specify your email. It is necessary to restore data if it is lost, and will also be used by the MTS Cashback program to send out newsletters.

    Check your email - you will receive an email with a short code. It must be repeated at the next stage.

    Set a new password for your personal account. It must contain letters different case and numbers. For information confidentiality purposes, do not use easy combinations or birthday dates as codes.

    At the last step of creating your personal account, a window will appear in which the address of your Email. Below it is a red “Register” button. Click on it to complete the process.

    A welcome message from MTS Cashback will appear. Read it and click the “Next” button to your personal account.

    Due to the fact that the loyalty program is closed, you will not be able to log in to your previous account. But after creating a personal account on the MTS Cashback portal, you can enter it from a special page of the telecom operator.

    In the login form that opens to your personal account, you must fill in two fields: login (phone number specified during registration) and password. If you plan to log in regularly of this device, then you can use the service of storing input data. To do this, check the box under the “Login” button in the “Remember me” line. But remember that you cannot do this if third parties have access to the device, as they can use your personal account.

    If you are interested in the question of accrual history, then select the appropriate section on the left. A page will open on which you need to specify the period for viewing information. In addition, you can specify the status of bonuses. Several options are available:

    1. “All”, that is, those available on this moment, and written off.
    2. “Accrued”, that is, available now.
    3. “Pending” – will soon be credited to your bonus account. The enrollment period is usually 1 business day, but sometimes it can be up to 90 days.
    4. “Rejected.” Such points usually include those that were initially awarded, but then written off due to the return of the goods.
    5. “Write off”, that is, used as cashback.

    How to spend bonuses in your personal account

    If you have accumulated a sufficient number of points, you can spend them as a discount in the following areas:

    1. Payment for cellular communications, Internet traffic, subscriptions, etc. Write-offs are made on the first day of each month.
    2. Top up the personal account of your loved ones who are MTS subscribers.
    3. Pay for your purchase in MTS stores.

    Important! When joining the MTS Cashback program, the accumulated bonuses for paying for the operator’s cellular communications are written off automatically every month on the 1st day.

    To buy goods in MTS stores, you need to set a goal in your personal account. Once achieved, you will need to order the issuance of a certificate. And only upon presentation of it will the employees of the mobile operator’s store give a discount when purchasing goods.

    Certificates are issued in the following denominations: 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 rubles. and further with a multiplicity of 500 rubles. The maximum amount can reach 80,000 rubles.

    I have been using the MTS network as a cellular operator for a very long time, at least 15 years. And all these years I had the same number, which had the MTS Bonus service. During this time, I accumulated experience, and every month the mts program awarded me 50 points simply for experience.

    I won’t say that a lot of bonuses were accumulated per month, but sometimes it was possible to pay for a package of minutes, SMS or Internet with MTS bonuses, which was a good help.

    All the time the number was registered not to me, but to a close relative.

    The number was recently re-registered in my name for convenience. For example, when there was a need to change the SIM card format (under new phone), I had to drag myself along with that same relative, the nominal owner of the number - this is terribly inconvenient.

    In general, after re-registration, all my bonuses were burned, everything was reset to zero, and the most annoying thing is that my experience was burned, now I don’t receive 50 points every month.

    There was no warning about this. It’s a shame, since the relative was only formally listed as the owner of the number, and for all 15 years I was the only user - and all the money passing through the number was mine. This can even be seen from the fact that all enrollments went through my name bank card where exactly my name is!

    By the way, I came to the re-registration procedure with that relative, with passports. I think it was possible to somehow warn about bonuses on the spot and do something to prevent them from burning out. It is possible that a relative signed something to this effect. But they didn’t offer any of this; all the experience was lost in a second.

    In general, I am very offended and disappointed. I have been an MTS subscriber for such a long time, the number has never changed, and neither has the operator... Therefore, I can’t give any more ratings, and I can’t even talk about the advantages of the program, since this situation has covered everything.

    These are all little things, yes, vanity on a universal scale, but the experience has been accumulating for 15 years! And time cannot be returned. And just like that, everything hopped and dissolved.

    I wrote in support a description of my problem with a request to return the experience - as expected, I received a dry answer that according to the conditions, when the owner changes, everything burns out and cannot be returned. It is a pity that no attempts were made to reflect on the absurdity of the situation.

    I am adding to the review (May 2019): I found out that now the MTS Bonus program has been completely canceled. It turns out that the points were burned again just like that.

    Instead, they offer the MTS Cashback system as an analogue. However, in the cashback service it is not enough just to use MTS services; you just need to make purchases in various stores through the application, and cash back will be awarded for these purchases. That is, now there is no bonus for using the services of an operator, so these two services are not analogues in their operation schemes.

    Payment for MTS with “Thank you” bonuses from Sberbank does not work in 2020 - such a statement is found more often than subscribers would like telephone company. Using the bonus program allowed them to save on cellular communications and reduce the cost of communicating with loved ones. But now it is no longer possible to use the accumulated points, no matter what replenishment method the clients of both organizations adhere to. A similar function is missing in personal account on the banking portal and on the website of the mobile operator.

    Considering the convenience of the system and the sudden disappearance of such an economical and attractive function, users are interested in answers to several questions at once:

    • why can’t I pay for my phone with accumulated bonuses;
    • how to restore a favorite function;
    • what led to the disappearance of bonus payment;
    • how to transfer money to an account.

    Finding the necessary information will not cause enormous difficulties for subscribers, although certain nuances will remain without detailed explanations, since large companies do not always explain the reasons for their decisions. Often they prefer to remain silent, simply confronting the client with the facts. This also affects the situation when MTS stopped recognizing bonuses.

    There is only one reason why users are unable to save on smartphones and communications. It is explained by the fact that MTS does not accept “Thank you” from Sberbank, since it left the list of partners of the financial institution. Therefore, all privileges relating to telephone operator, stopped working. You can verify this in several ways:

    • visit the official portal of the current bonus program and review the list of partners and the rewards provided by them (for convenience, you should enter the name of the cellular company in the search bar);
    • contact the bank’s support service and inquire about the reasons for the difficulties with paying for a mobile phone;
    • call contact center telephone company and ask the same question to the consultants.

    The answer and the result (in the case of an independent search for information) will be the same. The partnership program of the two flagships of the Russian telephone and financial market has been suspended, and therefore rely on the use of bonuses to pay for calls and mobile services useless. Subscribers should not waste precious time; it is better to immediately think about choosing alternative options transferring finances to a SIM card.

    MTS stopped accepting “Thank you” from Sberbank in 2020

    Once you are convinced that it is impossible to top up your account using accumulated accruals, you should think about the reasons for the difficulties. If you write and send a corresponding request, both organizations confirm that payment of MTS with “Thank you” bonuses from Sberbank has been suspended, but neither institution explains the motives that forced them to make an unpopular decision. There is no information with explanations on the official websites of the companies. Moreover, not a single establishment even reported making such a decision.

    But, despite the lack of information and official statements, some conclusions can be drawn. To do this, just look at the list of bank partners working in the field telephone communication. It is extremely short, and of the large ones, famous operators only Megaphone is present in it. But even it does not allow you to transfer money to the SIM card balance, limiting yourself to payments for equipment and accessories. Consequently, depositing funds into the account turns out to be unprofitable and inconvenient for the bank and cellular companies, and therefore it is pointless to count on a change in the current situation in the near future. You will not be able to use the privileges you receive to pay for telephone calls and reduce the cost of communicating with friends and acquaintances.

    What to do if MTS does not accept “Thank you” bonuses?

    Having considered the main factors that hinder cooperation between the flagships of the Russian banking and telephone sectors and having figured out why MTS payment with “Thank you” bonuses from Sberbank does not work, it remains to decide on the most convenient methods for crediting finances to a smartphone. To maintain balance at a decent level, it is allowed:

    • use personal account on the MTS portal;
    • use Sberbank Online, through which you can easily send the required amount to your own account;
    • deposit funds through telephone banking by sending an SMS message with the desired amount to service number 900;
    • connect "autopayment".
