So lately, more and more often it is required to translate scanned documents into PDF format. And this is no accident. There are viruses that infect the JPEG format, i.e. at one fine moment, all pictures, photographs and documents in this format are simply encrypted by such a virus, and you will not be able to read or view them anymore.

The new scanners already have a button built in, when pressed, the document is already scanned in PDF format, but this function does not always work.

I had a case where on two identical computers with the same operating system, the same scanner worked differently. On one computer, this very PDF button worked, but on the other it didn’t. Then it turned out that on one computer a printer with drivers was installed that complemented the scanner well, but not on the other.

In older scanners, in order for the PDF function, you need to study the instructions well, and remember where to go and where to change the settings. And often all scanners by default output documents in JPEG format. This is a graphic format. Usually it contains pictures and photographs.

There are special converter programs with which you can quickly change the format of a document, but they are not free. Yes, and putting a bunch of programs on your computer is also not desirable.

The best way out of this situation is to convert the document from JPEG to PDF online, i.e. using the Internet.

The resulting PDF file is saved directly to the cloud storage and becomes available from any of your devices. But the most important thing is that there is the possibility of text recognition, which means you can additionally edit it, save it in other formats, use search, and so on.

Genius Scan

If for some reason you have not used the previous two applications, then give Genius Scan a chance. It is quite simple, but effectively copes with the assigned task. A gentleman's set, in the form of auto-correction of perspective, recognition and cropping of fields, correction of photo quality, is present here. But besides this, there is a paid version of the program with advanced integration with Box, Dropbox, Evernote and other cloud services.

• Do not photograph documents at an angle, as this may leave parts of the image out of focus.
