Around the front panel there is a bezel made of silver plastic, which gives the phone a more solid look. Rear end the model is closed with an iron cover, which smoothly passes into the side surfaces.

For almost two years of operation, the back cover of Motorola peeled off, the rubber cap that covered the mini-USB connector fell off, and in general the device began to turn on a little (the battery began to discharge very quickly, the phone periodically lost the network). For this reason, there is a need to replace the old phone with a new one.

I got this phone after a preliminary study and purchase in the salon cellular communication... I wanted to buy a quality product for a reasonable price. I considered it unnecessary to spend tens of thousands of rubles on purchasing a fashionable smartphone with tempting technical characteristics. I needed a reliable and high quality phone for calls. The important criteria that guided me when choosing were:
I was not interested in the quality of the camera at all, since I have a good camera for photographs, and I use the camera in my phone as a replacement for pen and paper (for example, I saw an important announcement and took a picture, and at home I calmly rewrote the information).

I liked the design of this model, which is somewhat reminiscent of Nokia (although I did not have a single phone from this manufacturer). Also, a big plus was the presence of a retractable shutter covering the mini-USB connector and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which allows you to use the phone as music player... Another undoubted advantage of the phone is support for microSD memory cards with a capacity of 16 GB. Back cover made of metal also made a good impression, and besides, it is very easy to remove and reinstall (no titanic efforts required). I really liked the ability to customize almost all phone parameters. The screen is of good enough quality - of course, this is not super AMOLED, but for regular phone Not bad. According to the seller, the screen does not fade in the sun, but I have not yet been able to verify this.
On the desktop, there is a panel of links, where you can display 15 shortcuts of frequently used applications (it is very convenient, you do not need to go to the phone menu, everything you need is at hand). It seemed to me that this mobile phone has a certain "smartphone" tendency, but this does not spoil at all, but on the contrary, increases the usability. For example, information about a missed call or incoming SMS does not hang at the top of the screen as a tiny icon, but is located on the desktop as a link (everything is clearly visible at once). What I also really liked - a gorgeous phone book that meets all my requirements. I instantly put things in order in my contacts, sorted them into groups, added a bunch of additional information that could not have been done on the previous phone.
Another beauty in this phone that bribed me is the ability to create a backup on a memory card (you can archive your contacts, messages, calendar, tasks and notes). On your phone, you can accidentally delete an important contact or message and then pull your hair out. But this device has a basket, into which the deleted information falls (however, the basket must first be activated and select what should be saved there). For this I put a huge plus. I was also pleased that Samsung overcame one of its "childhood diseases". Previously, when downloading java applications to the phone from Samsung, it was necessary to add jad to the main jar file in addition to the main jar file, now this is no longer (jad is no longer needed).
For this phone, I would like to note a very decent music reproduction. Although I'm not a super music lover, the sound quality pleasantly surprised me. The bell is very loud, it will wake up even the dead, this can also be attributed to the advantages of the device (this is my opinion, someone may think otherwise).
What's not to like? Weaknesses, limitations.
Now about the sad:
1. If headphones or a USB cable are inserted into the phone, the back cover cannot be removed (design features).
2. An annoying bug in the phone - a limitation on the volume of the installed application (anything over 700 kilobytes is not installed, the phone gives an error - too much data).
3. Small volume internal memory- 50 megabytes.
4. You can set your own melody for a call or assign a melody, a picture to your contacts, but the phone will first copy this to itself (and the memory capacity is small). Imagine if you have several hundred contacts and you want to give everyone their own call and their own picture. The phone doesn't have enough memory for that. What prevents you from using a memory card, and not copying everything into yourself, is known only to Samsung engineers.
5. The keypad could be more comfortable, it is inconvenient to press the bottom row of buttons with one hand, I instinctively hold the phone with the other hand so that it does not slip out of my hands. If it is a monoblock, it should be operated with one hand without any problems, in this case the lack of design does not allow doing this.
6. In the dark, the 4-way navigation key, soft keys, call key, and power / end key are not illuminated. This is a huge disadvantage of the device's design.
7. Strange alarm clock. You cannot set an alarm on weekdays or weekends (in Motorola this is done without problems). There is a choice - either repeat every day, or weekly (you have to choose the day of the week), or once. It turns out that you need to set five alarms, each working day of the week has its own - very original.
8. If you insert a SIM card into your phone, the "download games" link automatically appears in the "Games and Applications" section (if there is no SIM card, the link disappears). The link, of course, is paid (I have not checked it - it is already understandable). Draw conclusions.
9. The phone has a completely useless and meaningless menu item " Samsung Apps". As if the user does not know where to get games and programs for this phone. The Internet is full of free alternatives - just use the search. But the manufacturer believes that the user does not know this and should not know anything, so he offers" Samsung Apps " which will rip you off for downloading content.
10. And now the most important drawback, because of which I am thinking about replacing the device. This phone contains malicious applications that are specially protected from deletion. These apps are located in the Games & Apps section and are called Durak and Hangman. Shareware games were instantly destroyed, because no one is going to pay money for something that can be obtained for free. The desire of the manufacturer and the operator to earn extra money is understandable, but the user, from the very beginning, should be able to manage the pre-installed games.
We are not talking about critical system files and settings - they certainly need to be protected and even hidden from the user's eyes. "Durak" and "Hangman", being not critical files for the phone, for some reason do not lend themselves to any configuration. I look at the permissions (that is, the settings of these applications), there are 8 items that I cannot change: use the network - allowed; use messages - allowed; send message - allowed; autostart - allowed; local connection - allowed; multimedia recording - allowed; data reading - allowed; data recording - allowed. Those. Nobody asks me if I want these games to go online, send messages, etc., everything has already been decided for me. It is an outright disgrace to embed games into the phone that cannot be deleted and which can send a paid SMS. This is a potential threat, in other words, the phone contains two most dangerous Trojans disguised as games. To call a spade a spade, these are destructive malicious applications. Imagine if a child or any untrained person took the phone to play? In the best case, the balance may turn out to be zero, and in the worst case, you will have to change the number due to three-digit debt.
What is the reason for such a zealous defense of the two above-mentioned "games" from removal? Nothing more than a desire to make money in the most cynical way - by imposing unnecessary games on the customer, pre-programmed to send paid SMS.
I began to deal with this problem on my own, because neither on the Samsung website, nor by calling the hotline of this manufacturer, I did not wait for an answer on this question. I went to the Savelovsky market, contacted several points that are engaged in phone firmware, asked to remove the built-in muck from the phone. Unfortunately, they could not help me. Apparently, the infection is very deeply integrated into the phone's firmware. One person was recommended to me who supposedly could help me, but he was not there. We'll have to go to Savelovsky again. If this specialist is not able to remove the infection from the phone, I will only have to change this device.
