Review of all iPad models: characteristics and comparison. IPad Review: Types, Specifications, Design and Cost of Back up Data

In the fall of 2010, Apple presented its first tablet to the general public. It was intended to revolutionize the concept of mobile gadgets. And the company succeeded. Over the next couple of years, the iPad became a favorite device for millions of its owners. He replaced ordinary PCs, laptops, video players, game consoles for users.

Following the "apple" company, seeing the popularity of the iPad, competing firms began to release their counterparts after Apple. Almost all of them looked like the first iPad.

For many years, PC sales, which had remained stable, lost ground for the first time. Today, there are already a lot of tablet models from Apple. But in this article we will turn to where it all began. Namely - to the iPad model of the first line.

In the material presented below, the iPad 1c 64 Gb and 3G characteristics are given.

Unlike many other companies, Apple made its first tablet in only one color. In this regard, the buyer had no choice.

The back of the gadget was made of aluminum and was not decorated with any elements. In the central part there was an image of the Apple symbol made of black plastic.

The front of the device was completely black. The second generation of the tablet has been supplemented with white frames around the display.

Software

The then novelty functioned on the basis of the "operating system" iOS version 3.2. In general, this had a great impact on the quality of the device. The fact is that this OS was originally designed for smartphones. And due to the fact that the tablet had a much larger screen, there were problems. The software developers had to quickly modify their products for the tablet.

Battery

The battery of the first tablet from the "apple" company came with a capacity of almost 7000 mAh. This is a very good value, at that time corresponding to similar characteristics in powerful laptops.

This battery provided the operation of the device:

  • Within 9 hours of surfing the net.
  • About 50 hours when listening to music tracks.
  • More than 7000 hours of standby time.

Since then, the manufacturer has kept practically the same characteristics of the batteries of its gadgets. Only the capacitance values change.

Dimensions of the first iPad

For the manufacturer, it was the first device with such dimensions. The length of the body of the tablet was just over 24 cm, width - 19. The thickness of the gadget was 13 mm, which is quite a lot. The tablet looked rather bulky in appearance.

As for the weight of the apparatus, it was different, depending on the characteristics on board of a particular configuration. The variation with WiFi weighed almost 670 grams, with the GSM module - a little more. Since then, Apple's tablets have been about a third lighter. And in terms of thickness, they decreased by 50%. But, nevertheless, in that year, the first device made a kind of revolution in the market.

CPU

The novelty began its work on the basis of A4. This is a specially adapted mobile core for tablets. But it came, of course, from the iPhone.

If we talk about the processor frequency, it was 1000 MHz. This, too, at that time was a very high indicator for a mobile gadget.

Thanks to the excellent processor, the following results have been achieved:

  • High productivity of the device.
  • Smoothness of the interface.
  • Excellent touch display data.

RAM

The "RAM" also played an important role in the popularity of the tablet. V modern world its numbers will seem very low, but then they were advanced. So, the amount of "RAM" in total amounted to 256 MB. Note that the indicators are not in GB, but in megabytes, which is simply ridiculous for today's user. The frequency was only 200 MHz.

Nevertheless, the system worked great - fast and without freezes. The only exceptions are some programs for which the developers did not have time to optimize by the time the device was released. But over time, they tweaked everything.

Display

This element of the device set the bar for similar gadgets for many years to come. The 9.7-inch diagonal of the first tablet from Apple was copied by almost all other companies. Only by looking at the tablets of competing firms will it become clear that by design they exactly copied the device of the "apple" company. By the way, the same can be said about the technical characteristics.

The screen resolution of the first generation tablets was 1024x 768 pixels. Their density was just over 132 per inch. This opened up an excellent view from all angles.

Built-in memory

In this sense, in contrast to the design, the potential buyer had a choice - a 16 Gb, 32 Gb or 64 Gb model. As with all other Apple technology, there was no support for memory cards. This situation is also relevant for today... However, user complaints about the lack of memory prompted the company to release devices with 128 GB of memory on board.

The iPad is a modern compact device that completely replaces personal computers. iPad is more than Tablet PC... This is a classic example of an Internet tablet starting at 7 inches. Tablets run on the same platform as the iPhone - that's iOS, of course.

iPad is not much different from a PC, except for a slightly stripped-down functionality, there are practically no differences. The device is equipped with a touchscreen display. Using the device, you can:

  • draw;
  • watch videos and films;
  • perform office tasks;
  • surf the internet;
  • play the same games as on the iPhone (although it's much more convenient on a tablet);
  • upload interesting content and much more.

iPod and iPad: the same thing?

People who are not familiar with Apple technology often confuse iPod and iPad. Indeed, the names are a little consonant, but in fact these are two absolutely different devices... IPods are music players.

IPad history

Cupertinians did not particularly try to roll out a competitive product in the tablet market. Their main task was to release something that is at the same time not worse than a smartphone and a personal computer. Therefore, the first model of this brand was very different from other tablets and completely changed the idea of such devices.

The "tablet" with WiFi and the then unpretentious Apple A4 processor, first released in 2010, was greeted with caution. The iPad was not taken seriously, at most, as a e-book... However, on the very first day of sales, more than 300 thousand units were sold.

The credibility of the company grew, and a year later an improved second-generation model was released. It was thinner, more efficient, lighter. The main feature of this model was the introduction of front camera... It is thanks to the iPad 2 that Apple has fans.

Presenting the second iPad in 2011, Steve Jobs was convinced that many corporations were heading in the wrong direction. The future belongs to a small-sized device that you can easily take with you. One of the founders of Apple predicted that Internet tablets would completely displace PCs from the market.

After a while, the mini and Pro models appeared. Responding to specific user requests, they are ideally tailored for any user. Those who prefer to carry the computer in their pocket will choose the small version, and for those who like to see a lot more and have a gadget with a large display, the Pro model has been invented.

IPad Specifications

It is difficult to answer unequivocally to this question, since in the entire history of Aypads there are almost 20 pieces similar devices... Consider general hardware.

Battery

IPad Battery always had a large volume for two reasons - to ensure work big screen and meet the user's long-term use need. The body houses the same lithium-ion battery as the iPhone. To charge such a giant, ordinary iPhone charging will not work, so a 10-watt one is always included in the kit. Charger.

The company claims the battery provides continuous 10 hours of video and at least a month of standby time.

Screen

  • V latest model The iPad, released in 2018, has an LCD display called Liquid Retina.

Photo: Liquid Retina Screen
  • A distinctive feature is that the screen occupies the entire area of the panel (there is no Touch ID button in new generations).
  • Apple claims this display offers maximum image fidelity and is capable of 326 pixels per inch.
  • True Tone technology adjusts to the environment and produces colors that are most comfortable for the eye.
  • The oleophobic coating is resistant to fingerprints and smudges on the screen.

CPU

The new devices are equipped with an advanced neural processor A12X Bionic, which is comparable to the level desktop computers... It is several times faster and more powerful than the previous generation - the processor is capable of 5 trillion operations per second.

Camera

Shoots great photos at 12 megapixels. Records video in 4K. The iPad also comes with Panorama Mode, Live Snapshot, and improved Smart HDR technology.

Memory

It's hard to say specifically about memory - the volume varies from 32 Gigabytes to 1 Terabyte.

Unlock, Authentication & Apple Pay

Performs three functions at once latest technology Face ID face recognition. Thanks to the front camera with TrueDepth system (located in the "monobrow" at the top of the screen), the user will be able to unlock the iPad and make a secure payment via Apple Pay in a matter of seconds.

What are the types and types of iPad?

As mentioned just above, iPads are distinguished by:

  • size (mini or proshka);
  • functionality (from old models to modern ones);
  • the amount of memory.

What are the iPad generations and how can you tell them apart?

It is enough to know that there are 7 generations. They differ in the rear and front panels (are there, for example, Home button).

  • The first iPad 1G was released with Wi-Fi and 3G modules. Outwardly, it is easy to distinguish - plump and similar to the iPhone 3G.

  • iPad 2 received several models at once: two revisions with Wi-Fi and 3G GSM module. It differs from the first iPad in thickness and a completely different design of the back panel. The speaker is for the first time located at the rear in the lower left corner (as in several subsequent models).

  • iPad 3 came out with a module cellular(Cellular) and, like previous models, with Wi-Fi. Difficult to distinguish from the second, except for the Retina display.

  • IPad 4 and has the same communication modules as the third. This is a modified tablet that can connect to personal computer... There was also an innovation in cellular communications - LTE appeared, but, unfortunately, this did not affect Russia.

  • V iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and 3 finally have a full 4G connection for everyone. The model was well revised - reduced in thickness and updated the design.

  • The sixth generation of iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 is easy to distinguish from previous models - instead of a square on the Home button, Touch fingerprint ID. Also on the side there is no mode switch for silent. Even thinner than previous models.

  • We added keyboard support, which resulted in a special port on the side. The 12.9-inch model is difficult not to distinguish due to its size and completely new and different performance.

  • iPad 5 is a budget model of iPad Air. Here Apple did not present a new product, but took a step back.

  • iPad Pro 2 is no different from the first generation in terms of performance. Unless there is a new amount of memory in 512 GB and slightly different display sizes.

  • iPad 6, like its predecessor under the number 5, is an economy variant. Two differences are the processor and the filling, similar to iPhone smartphone 7, and for the first time, support for the new 1st and 2nd generation Apple Pencils.

  • The 3rd generation iPad Pro redefines the concept of iPads in general. We can say that this is an enlarged copy of the design and iPhone characteristics X. Outwardly, it differs in that a "monobrow" with Face ID appears, and the Home button with a fingerprint is removed.

Who is the iPad for?

You should definitely consider buying an iPad if you are an artist or if you think that:

  • the screen on the phone is small for watching movies;
  • gaming performance is poor;
  • typing on the keyboard is inconvenient.

Apple's iPad was at one time an innovative solution, as of course almost all Apple products that have gained great success in the market. Not only technically equipped people, but also ordinary citizens want to buy these products, because this is ... Apple.

IPad 1 Tablet Review

He's really amazing! 2048x1536 pixels are very convenient for use, the image is rich and bright, even at the minimum display brightness. Whoever has seen an iPad display at least once observes other similar gadgets with great skepticism and rushes to buy an iPad in the nearest store. All that can be said about the displays of other tablets: they are similar to iPad display(such as his, or worse).

The best option is hard to imagine. The disadvantage of this display: the aspect ratio is close to 4: 3, in most Android tablets it is 16:10. When viewing modern video content, a large display area is not involved; on Android tablets, this is usually the entire display or a very significant part of it.

Unfortunately, this is the iPad's biggest drawback, which the manufacturer, for some reason, is unwilling to remove. And ordinary users, like me, use the tablet in 9 out of 10 situations precisely for video playback.

By purchasing this tablet, you can immediately forget about the RAM. At first I used the model with 1 Gb, now I use the model with 2 Gb of RAM, but I did not feel the difference in the tablet's activity. It functions, does not slow down, the shortage of RAM is not noticeable in any way.

All versions of Apple tablets that I have used are equipped with 16 Gb of ROM, this decision is explained by their minimal cost. At first, I thought that this was very little and because of this I was worried, but after a certain period of time I abandoned this idea due to the fact that 90% of the time I use the tablet at home, where there is stable access to Wi-Fi. After all, the applications that I use on the tablet take up little space, and video and music can be taken from the Internet - and a logical conclusion suggests itself, why should I in this case given memory? To save garbage or what?

Well, well, there is no excessive memory, maybe I exaggerated here, but its deficit is felt only when it is necessary to go somewhere, where there is no constant and cheap Internet.

And at home you will not feel it in any way. Well, when you need more memory, it is always possible to purchase a model with a huge capacity. Although in most Android tablets it is possible to increase it using a memory card. Therefore, this is a disadvantage or advantage, everyone makes a decision on their own.

The tablet works, on the whole, well. And when something is functioning perfectly, there is nothing to talk about. Android tablet users should understand this idea, they often have to dance with a tambourine for it to work well for them. \

The IOS operating system is wonderful, it is intuitive and convenient, it updates quickly and without difficulties, it is difficult to kill it, it is almost impossible. Over time, it does not clog up and always acts as on the first day of installation.

The disadvantage is that the necessary content can be written into the tablet from a stationary PC or laptop exclusively through the iTunes application, which must be installed on it - and this application is difficult, not intuitively clear, and often freezes. Just as iOS is great, iTunes for PC is terrible.

Outcome

These are just some of the advantages and disadvantages of the iPad. For those who like to save money, Android tablets better, but when budget is not an issue and you need a tablet with decent performance and great design for work purposes, then the iPad has no competition. Every penny invested in it is reasonable.

Apple manufactures electronic devices the highest quality- few would argue with this statement. Perhaps the most popular products of this American corporation are gadgets such as the iPhone, iPad and MacBook.

IPads are ideal multimedia devices — surfing the web, watching movies, listening to music, and more, you can do it all on a variety of iPads. However, which model of iPad fit better for your needs? Which of them has the most large diagonal? Or which one is the most productive?

In today's article, we will take a look at all iPad models that have come out over the past eight years, as well as make a small comparison of them so that you can decide if you have a question about buying such a premium device. So let's start our review with the very first iPad ...

iPad 1

The original iPad was released on April 3, 2010. It's safe to say that the first iPad was a kind of sensation in the world of electronic technology. The thing is that Apple equipped its gadget with such features that tablets from other manufacturers simply did not have.

An example of such features: a real IPS-display with a resolution of 768 × 1024 and a powerful (at that time) Apple A4 processor, clocked at 1000 MHz. Other pleasant moments include a capacious 6667 mAh battery, which is quite impressive, considering that at that time only popular netbook models could boast of such a capacity.

Ok, now let's talk about the less pleasant features of the first iPad model in the line of these devices. The most obvious thing is the dimensions and weight of the device, which were as follows:

  • height - 243 mm;
  • width - 190 mm;
  • thickness - 13 millimeters;
  • weight - 670 grams (Wi-Fi) and 730 grams (Wi-Fi + 3G).

Yes, the iPad 1 is a rather thick and heavy device that has been difficult to keep on weight for a long time. The iPad 1 longevity issue is also worth mentioning: many device owners have complained that despite the high battery capacity, the gadget has exploded extremely quickly. Among other things, the first iPad model lacked front and rear cameras.

Well, let's take a look at the rest of the characteristics of the first model:

  • processor - Apple A4 at 1 GHz;
  • GPU - PowerVR SGX 535;
  • RAM - 256 MB DDR SDRAM;
  • operating system - iOS 5.1.1;

It is true that today such characteristics seem ridiculous, but for 2010 they are simply amazing. Plus, don't forget about excellent optimization. operating system iOS. iPad became a real hit and in less than a year Apple decided to release the next product in the line - iPad 2.

iPad 2

The iPad 2 was released on March 2, 2011. Like its older brother, the novelty made a strong impression on the public. In fact, Apple has worked on bugs and has significantly improved the original concept. So what changes has the tablet undergone? The most obvious change is the presence of two cameras at 0.3 Mpx (front) and 0.7 Mpx (rear).

Another positive change is the dimensions of the device. iPad has become an order of magnitude thinner and lighter:

  • height - 241.2 mm;
  • width - 185.7 mm;
  • thickness - 8.8 mm;
  • weight - 601 grams (Wi-Fi), 607 grams (CDMA), 613 grams (GSM).

Among other things, the developers decided to install more RAM (512 MB LPDDR2) on the second version of the iPad, as well as a faster central (dual-core Apple A5 at 1 GHz) and graphics (PowerVR SGX 543MP2) processors. Apple also decided to increase the battery for the gadget, the volume of which was now 6930 mAh. But the iPad display has not undergone any changes: the same IPS with a resolution of 768 × 1024.

iPad 3

If the second iPad had minor differences from the first, then the iPad 3, which was released on March 7, 2012, differs from the original version in a significant way. First, let's take a look at the weight and dimensions:

  • height - 241.2 mm;
  • width - 185.7 mm;
  • thickness - 9.4 mm;

As you may have noticed, the iPad practically does not differ in size from the previous version, but it has become a little thicker and gained weight, which is probably due to its changed filling. Instead of the usual 768 × 1024 resolution, the third iteration received an IPS-display (Retina) with a resolution of 1536 × 2048, which is a fairly decent resolution even by today's standards. However, only the resolution has changed: the diagonal is still 9.7 inches.

Apple also added new central (1 GHz dual-core Apple A5X) and graphics (PowerVR SGX543MP4) processors to the third-generation iPad, which raised the performance of the gadget to a higher level. Considering the improved hardware, Apple decided to equip the tablet with a much larger battery, which holds a whopping 11,560 mAh.

What about the camera: the front camera has the same 0.3 mpx, and the rear camera has 5 mpx. With such a camera, you can already take pretty decent photos if you are interested in taking photos from a tablet. Among other things, the RAM has been increased and now it is a whole gigabyte.

iPad 4

It is worth noting that on October 23, 2012, Apple released two new tablet models at once: iPad 4 and iPad Mini. Let's look at the older model first, and then move on to its smaller sibling. So, the iPad 4 is not that much different from the previous iPad, but there are still some differences.

The most obvious difference is the presence of the Lightning connector, which has long been accustomed to today. Central and GPUs the previous model was replaced by a dual-core Apple A6X, clocked at 1.4 GHz, and a quad-core PowerVR SGX554MP4.

The main camera remained the same, but the front module was improved (FaceTime HD) and now reached 1.2Mpx. The amount of RAM and battery capacity also remained the same: 1 GB and 11560 mAh. Also, the display of the device has not undergone any changes: the same IPS display (Retina) with a resolution of 1536 × 2048.

Let's now take a look at iPad dimensions 4:

  • height - 241.2 mm;
  • width - 185.7 mm;
  • thickness - 9 millimeters;
  • weight - 652 grams (Wi-Fi), 662 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

As you can see, the fourth generation of the iPad is almost identical in size and even weight to the previous generation. However, the iPad 4 has become a little thinner than its predecessor, but only slightly. It is also worth noting that some time after the release of the 16, 32 and 64 gigabyte models, Apple released the 128 gigabyte iPad 4.

iPad Mini

Let's move on to relatively speaking the younger brother of the iPad fourth generation- iPad Mini. It is easy to guess from the name of this model that this tablet is much smaller than full-size models. Let's take a look at the dimensions and weight of the iPad Mini:

  • height - 200 mm;
  • width - 134.7 mm;
  • thickness - 7.2 millimeters;
  • weight - 308 grams (Wi-Fi), 312 g (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

A really small tablet when compared to the iPad 4 or previous models. The reduced weight and dimensions, unfortunately, mean that the hardware is not the most top-end (at that time) hardware. Let's walk through it:

  • central processing unit - Apple A5 dual-core processor at 890 MHz;
  • GPU - PowerVR SGX 543MP2;
  • RAM - 512 megabytes;
  • display - 7.9-inch IPS with a resolution of 768 × 1024;
  • battery - 4400 mAh;

Do the above remind you of something specifications? True, at its core, the iPad Mini was a scaled-down version of the iPad 2 that came out back in 2011. Unlike the iPad 2, the battery size and display size have been reduced, which is quite expected given such a small size. Unfortunately, this model was deprived of Retina. Also, the iPad Mini has a Lighting port and a 4G module.

iPad Air

iPad Air is the next version of the famous Internet tablet, which was released on October 22, 2013. A special feature of the iPad Air is that it successfully combines powerful hardware, large display diagonal and thinness. Hence, apparently, the name "Air" came. It is worth noting that the iPad Air looks pretty much like the iPad Mini - Apple's previous tablet model.

Let's take a look at the dimensions and weight of the iPad Air:

  • height - 240 mm;
  • width - 169.5 mm;
  • thickness - 7.5 millimeters;
  • weight - 469 grams (Wi-Fi), 478 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

Lightweight and slim device with the following hardware:

  • central processing unit - dual-core, 64-bit Apple A7 processor at 1.4 GHz;
  • display - 9.7-inch IPS (Retina) with a resolution of 1536 × 2048;
  • battery - 8850 mAh;
  • front and rear cameras - 5Mpx and 1.2Mpx;

Among other things, the Apple M7 coprocessor appeared in the iPad Air, which collects and processes data received from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, thereby increasing the performance of the tablet.

iPad Mini 2

Apparently, the original iPad Mini gained popularity among consumers of Apple products, since the company in October 2013 decided to release the iPad Mini 2, or, as it is also called, iPad mini with Retina display. Don't assume that Apple has just added to old model Retina and tried to sell it again. iPad Mini 2 is a completely new model.

The developers managed to keep almost the same dimensions and weight of the previous model of the iPad Mini, but add hardware of a completely different level. So, under the hood of the iPad Mini 2 you can find:

  • central processor - dual-core Apple A7 at 1.3 GHz;
  • coprocessor - Apple M7;
  • graphics processor - PowerVR G6430;
  • RAM - 1 gigabyte;
  • display - 7.9-inch Retina IPS with a resolution of 1536 × 2048;
  • battery volume - 6471 mAh;

iPad Mini 2 is a compact and, most importantly, powerful - at least for the time being - tablet from Apple. The second mini version got a faster processor, more RAM, a much higher resolution Retina display, and a larger battery. However, the front and rear cameras remain the same. Also, the diagonal of the display has not changed in any way, which, however, is quite logical.

iPad Air 2

In October 2014, the original iPad Air also received a sequel in the form of the iPad Air 2. Same idea: slim body, large diagonal and high performance. The first thing that catches your eye is the significantly increased amount of RAM, which now reaches as much as 2 gigabytes, which, even by today's standards, is not so bad. Apple has also released a version of the iPad Air 2 with three gigabytes of RAM.

Among other things, the iPad Air 2 has an improved iSight rear camera module, which reached 8Mpx. But the resolution of the front-facing camera FaceTimeHD remained at the same level as in the previous model of iPad Air. It should also be noted that the developers have successfully managed to reduce the weight of the gadget and its thickness. Let's take a look at the dimensions of the device:

  • height - 240 mm;
  • width - 169.5 mm;
  • thickness - 6.1 millimeters;
  • weight - 437 grams (Wi-Fi), 444 (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

Of course, the iPad Air 2 also received new hardware, taking the tablet to a completely different level of performance:

  • central processor - triple-core Apple A8X at 1.5 GHz;
  • coprocessor - Apple M8;
  • graphics processor - eight-core PowerVR GXA6850;
  • display - 9.7-inch Retina LED + IPS with a resolution of 1536 × 2048;
  • battery volume - 7340 mAh;

I would also like to note one extremely important innovation in the form of Touch ID - a proprietary fingerprint scanner from Apple.

iPad Mini 3

Apple could not help but continue to release the Mini series tablets, because they are so popular among users. On October 16, 2014, the iPad Mini 3 was born. Unfortunately, the iPad Mini 3 is not much different from its predecessor. The only differences are the added Touch ID fingerprint scanner, LED backlighting for the Retina IPS display, and the lack of a model with 32GB storage, which is very strange.

iPad Pro 12.9

In November 2015, the company launched a line of extremely powerful tablets called the iPad Pro. For now we will focus on the most advanced gadget of this line - iPad Pro 12.9. Perhaps the most striking difference between the iPad Pro 12.9 and other iPad models and tablets from other manufacturers is the Retina, LED + IPS 12.9-inch display with a monstrous 2048 × 2732 resolution.

According to Apple, the iPad Pro 12.9 may well compete with many laptops in terms of performance. And it's easy to verify this by reading the full list of iPad Pro 12.9 specifications:

  • central processor - dual-core Apple A9X at 2.26 GHz;
  • coprocessor - Apple M9;
  • GPU - PowerVR Series7;
  • RAM - 4 gigabytes;
  • battery volume - 10307 mAh;
  • camera - rear at 12Mpx and front at 1.2Mpx.

It is also worth noting that Apple, together with the tablet, can use the proprietary Pencil stylus, it is possible to connect external keyboard, and also there is the ability to simultaneously run two applications on the same screen. Among other things, iPad Pro 12.9 has as many as four speakers, thanks to which users can enjoy true stereo sound.

iPad Mini 4

The fourth generation iPad Mini was released by Apple on September 9, 2015. The tablet has become even more compact and lightweight, while having even more advanced hardware. Let's take a look at the updated dimensions and weight:

  • height - 203.2 mm;
  • width - 134.8 mm;
  • thickness - 6.1 millimeters;
  • weight - 295 grams.

As you can see, iPad Mini 4 is an extremely thin and light tablet ideal for a variety of multimedia tasks. And for this he will be helped by the following hardware:

  • central processor - dual-core Apple A8 at 1.5 GHz;
  • coprocessor - Apple M8;
  • GPU - PowerVR GX6450;
  • battery volume - 5124 mAh;

You probably immediately noticed that the company decided to reduce the size of the battery, which immediately leads to thoughts of reduced battery life. However, thanks to its talented developers and low power consumption, Apple managed to maintain the same battery life even with a reduced battery.

iPad Pro 9.7

After the release of the iPad Pro 12.9, which proved to be a hugely successful model, Apple decided to create a brother for it, but only with a smaller diagonal and almost the same hardware characteristics. Considering the reduced diagonal, the display resolution was reduced to 1536 × 2048, however, this is still the same Retina IPS, which is good news.

The battery capacity has also been reduced, which is now 7306 mAh, but this is not a problem, since due to the reduced resolution and display diagonal, power consumption has also decreased. Apple promise effective work battery up to 10 hours.

The RAM of the tablet has undergone changes: it has been reduced to two gigabytes, which may become a problem for some users. Among other things, iPad tablet Pro 9.7 has support for extremely useful function, which will adjust the display's color gamut to the ambient light.

Don't forget that Apple has improved the front and rear cameras of the smaller Pro version of the tablet. The front camera is 5.0Mpx and the rear is 12Mpx. Despite the reduced size, four speakers remained on the case and the ability to connect an external keyboard was retained.

iPad 5

The fifth generation iPad was released by Apple on March 21, 2017. It is worth noting that this model, perhaps, most strongly disappointed many fans of this manufacturer's products, and all for one simple reason: there were no significant innovations in the iPad 5. Let's take a look at the dimensions and weight of the model:

  • height - 240 mm;
  • width - 169.5 mm;
  • thickness - 7.5 millimeters;
  • weight - 469 grams (Wi-Fi) and 478 grams (Wi-Fi + Cellular).

The meanings have long been familiar - nothing out of the ordinary. I would like to say the opposite about the hardware, but in this respect, everything is also pretty familiar. Let's take a look at what hardware is installed on board the iPad 5:

  • central processor - dual-core Apple A9 at 1.8 GHz;
  • coprocessor - Apple M8;
  • GPU - PowerVR Series 7XT GT7600;
  • RAM - 2 gigabytes;
  • camera - rear at 8Mpx and front at 1.2Mpx.

Perhaps the only ones the advantages of iPad 5 compared to the previous models in the lineup are more powerful CPU and GPU. However, many of the disadvantages of the iPad 5 can be forgiven if only due to the fact that the price of base model this version was only $ 329.

iPad 6

And now we come to the iPad 6 - the latest tablet model from Apple available today, which was released on March 27, 2018. The novelty has many similarities with the previous generation iPad model. The biggest difference is Apple's new 2.3GHz quad-core A10 processor with PowerVR GT7600 graphics, which delivers decent performance. Also worth noting is the new M10 motion coprocessor. Let's take a look at the rest of the iPad 6 specs:

  • RAM - 2 gigabytes;
  • display - Retina, 9.7 inches, LED + IPS with a resolution of 1536 × 2048 ;;
  • battery volume - 8827 mAh;
  • camera - rear at 8Mpx and front at 1.2Mpx.

Among other things, the iPad 6 has support for the proprietary iPencil stylus, however, this gadget is not included with the tablet itself. If you are interested in Apple technology, you should know that the iPencil used to only work with the Pro version of tablets, but now it can do the iPad of the sixth generation.

    1. Large, clear screen. 2. Mobility 3. With the release of firmware 4.2.1, multitasking appeared. Programs are no longer closed by pressing the "home" button, but are minimized. To call the process manager double tap the same button. Very comfortably. 4. Lots of applications in the AppStore. They allow you to turn the device into an almost complete replacement for a laptop. 5. I use a capacitive stylus pen with a rubber ball at the end. I recommend it to everyone, many pluses, including a clean screen. 6. Capacious battery. I have enough for 2 days of intensive use, including recordings in the penultimate program.

    Speed of work. It does not get warm, you can lie on the couch for hours without fear of overheating and breakdown (unlike laptops). Books are read perfectly, the eyes do not get tired, they open quickly and look, unlike readers, in color and with illustrations, so that it becomes excruciatingly painful for a lot of money spent aimlessly on them. The internet is fast, you just have to get used to Safari. There is a sea of all kinds of applications, from games to necessary and unnecessary utilities. I have not turned on the PC at home for a week, I check my mail in seconds, I do not wait for the computer to boot. I don’t want to solve serious problems on it, I have a PC and a job for this, but with the iPad I just relax. Advice, take at least 32 GB for video, without 3G, you don't need it. There is no speed on 3G at all, one frustration, if you need mobility, buy a Yota egg.

    Everything flies. The visual user interface is extremely friendly and finger-friendly. It fits well in the hand (not very heavy), and looks extremely elegant with a case. The capacity of the battery allows you not to think about it at all during the day. All Apple advertising slogans are justified in this sense. Very high quality build. The front panel is glossy glass and feels very durable. The body is metal. Installing programs from a single repository with automated support for updating and searching.

    Replaces many items at home. When installing free apps plays the role of an Internet TV and radio with a huge number of stations, an old clock with a strike, a very good opportunity to work on the Internet, this toy is the best (in terms of the graphic presentation of the book) reader, a good video and audio player. For normal operation of the product, you need a good router and a sufficiently high-speed Internet connection. To fully realize the delights of this unique product, alas, you need to tinker with it for many hours, be able to convert films and, of course, work with the AppStore. In terms of the abundance of functions performed and everyday joys, alas, it has no equal.

    1. Marked screen if you do not use a stylus.
    2. Low memory for applications. New flashing this case exposed. When 3-4 applications are open + a browser with at least 5 pages, the programs start to glitch. For example quick office. We have to close the rest of the applications for the sake of comfortable viewing a presentation weighing 3MB.
    3. No cameras

    The main disadvantages are the combination of the price of the device and the principles of the Apple OS. The price for this functionality is sky-high. The user, on the other hand, is equated to a dumb user, from whom nothing more is required than to have a credit card.
    Very annoying is the restriction on the file sharing policy both inside and outside the device. All manipulations with data inside the device are possible only with the use of specialized software (often paid), and even then in its own memory area. Data exchange with the outside world is possible only with the help of the same third-party software, Email or iTunes. Particularly infuriating is the device's attachment to the proprietary data exchange program from Apple iTunes... Everything from the computer to the tablet is poured only through it. And at the same time she behaves in a

    Most of all, iTunes is annoying and the inability to upload files directly!
    Update: With the release of iOS 5, iTunes is no longer annoying. now syncs via WiFi and does not require you to constantly stick in the lace. So minus 1 disadvantage :)
    In addition, I discovered such a thing as DropBox - now everything required documents always with me...
